It's hard to say why we put a quilt project away and avoid it for a period of time. I'm not sure why I put this one away.... I think maybe it was because I was at a loss to know what to do with it next...or maybe I was tired of paper piecing flying geese units. In any case, I've pulled it out again and am working on it. The flying geese units will frame the star block...but I'm not sure what will come after that. A border with some kind of star block in the corners maybe???

I've had a really slow start to 2017. After I finished up the donation sewing for 2016 and the Christmas sewing for 2016 I went into a bit of a slump. That wasn't all bad as it allowed me some time to think and regroup and to do a bit of reorganizing in my sewing area--which really needed it after the rush to finish things at the end of 2016.

I've been busy since the reorganization and have a few UFO's I'm finishing up as well as some new projects that I just started that I'm liking a lot. New ways of using crumb blocks will be coming up soon!

I take quilting in 4-H and this was the quilt I took to fair this year.
Its a pre-cut storm at sea kit from John Flynn Quilting, so much easier then cutting all those little pieces. :)
