USER STORY MAPPING:

Using metrics to tell a story is a great suggestion. Thanks Scott for this suggestion. Al Hazle (our ELE volunteer co-leader for Agile Leadership Systems) shared a nice one-page summary, framed as an "Opportunity Canvas" from "User Story Mapping" (by Jeff Paton--http://amzn.com/1491904909). It is a similar framework Accenture's Capability Blueprint but focuses on "the user".

On April 14th at  Noon (Central) EBSCO is sponsoring "Measuring Modern Learning--Lessons from Content Marketing and Learning Programs" webinar with Ken Bouchard, Senior Manager of Executive & Leadership Development at Staples. Visit our event calendar to learn more by clicking Ken's photo below.

Content marketing – a strategy based on providing prospective clients with insights they can use and thought leadership, not just product information – is dominating the marketing world today. It's a strategy that is coming to response to the myriad ways people are interacting with and utilizing information in today's marketplace. But some of it central tenants – turning one piece of content into many, using new ways of measuring the impact and influence of multiple content pieces, identifying and empowering influencers – could hold the key to managing and measuring modern learning for organizations. Businesses have struggled for years to help them more effectively manage and measure the impact of the learning programs, and the look to other business functions and resources may be part of the answer.

One way is through a story. The business had this problem. We took a closer look at what was going on. We partnered to implement some changes, or I what I like to call, interventions. We reduced errors or increased production.

Greetings from Virginia Beach, VA. I am Advisor, Evaluation and Measurement, for CVS/Caremark. My role is to show the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of training using business metrics such as production and quality. CVS/Caremark is part of CVS Health and is responsible for mail order and specialty prescription programs.

I am working on a dashboard to show how well new hires are reaching the level of proficient. Obstacles include, determining what is proficient, getting weekly or monthly data for new hires, and how to simplify a lot of data into one, simple view.
