Portfolio Expectations:
It is expected of the Councillor undertake the following activities during the Council term:
1. Compile / maintain a SAIAE specific document on mentorship (based on ECSA document / requirements) with supporting tools (presentation, etc.) for distribution to candidates and mentors, and use at branch or other meetings (with a potential future link to a list of available mentors that can be made available to candidates). All documents, tools or lists must also be provided to the business manager.
2. Arrange one annual / biannual function (or workshop) specifically for candidates (possibly a side event at the SAIAE congress, where exposure of candidates to mentors can take place), with organisational support from the SAIAE business manager.
3. Write 2 articles aimed at candidates/mentors for the newsletter per year
4. Obtain report from PAC chairman for each Council meeting (on the number of application received) and provide this information to the business manager to encourage new professional persons to join SAIAE (if they are not members already)

Assistance Required from Gauteng Branch:
1. Circulate Mentors and Mentees information gathering sheet to all members so that  we can be able to compile the database of all available mentors and those willing to be mentored, their availability and requirements so we can match the two
2. Assist with compiling already registered Mentors with CUs who can assist companies without Internal Mentors (Branch Meeting Announcement and forms circulation)
3. Organise short interactive Mentor-Mentees sessions after Branch Meetings where the available mentors to be present during the meeting are known prior to meeting and candidates come to meeting with pressing areas that they require guidance on
4. Organise ECSA Registration workshop (Documents submission stage, process flow) with bias towards Agricultural Engineering
5. Assist by making an announcement at Branch meeting that all engineers who know other Agricultural Engineers who are not yet members of SAIAE be encouraged to register

Attached Important Documents for Circulation to Members:
The below listed documents will assist both the Candidate and Mentor on the expected outcomes, attributes of a mentor, what’s expected and guidance to what Reviewers look for in ECSA Submissions
1. Discipline Specific Guidelines for Agricultural Engineering
2. Guideline to Mentors Agricultural Engineering
3. Guideline for Reviewers Agricultural Engineering
