Size-Some Images Have Pennies
Colors:
Head-Very Dark But Brilliant Orangish/Brownish Color

Can anyone identify these ants? The worker ants are very small, about 1mm. As you can see, the queen is considerably larger, and there are many queens in each nest. For their body size, their eggs turned into huge pupa. The pupa in the 3rd pic are only about 1/2 the size they became before maturity.

I called them sugar ants, because I thought I remembered hearing that name many years ago.

I'm in west central Georgia.
