Heuristic*, semiotics*! "The Long Now". Or Groundhog Day..

* Close enough for Jazz!
*Every picture tells a a story, don't it?
(Semiotics is frequently seen as having important anthropological dimensions; for example, the late Italian semiotician and novelist Umberto Eco proposed that every cultural phenomenon may be studied as communication.[ Some semioticians focus on the logical dimensions of the science, however. They examine areas belonging also to the life sciences—such as how organisms make predictions about, and adapt to, their semiotic niche in the world (see semiosis). In general, semiotic theories take signs or sign systems as their object of study: the communication of information in living organisms is covered in biosemiotics (including zoosemiotics) -Wikipedia
*The Long Now Foundation, established in 1996, is a public, non-profit organization based in San Francisco that seeks to become the seed of a very long-term cultural institution. It aims to provide a counterpoint to what it views as today's "faster/cheaper" mindset and to promote "slower/better" thinking. The Long Now Foundation hopes to "creatively foster responsibility" in the framework of the next 10,000 years, and so uses 5-digit dates to address the Year 10,000 problem[1] (e.g., by writing "02016" rather than "2016"). The organisation's logo, a capital X with an overline, is a representation of 10,000 in Roman numerals.
*Groundhog Day is a 1993 American fantasy comedy-drama film. Phil (Bill Murray), a weatherman, is out to cover the annual emergence of the groundhog from its hole. He gets caught in a blizzard that he didn't predict and finds himself trapped in a time warp. He is doomed to relive the same day over and over again until he gets it right.

Tao Te Ching - Lao Tzu - chapter 11

Thirty spokes share the wheel's hub;
It is the center hole that makes it useful.
Shape clay into a vessel;
It is the space within that makes it useful.
Cut doors and windows for a room;
It is the holes which make it useful.
Therefore profit comes from what is there;
Usefulness from what is not there.

As far as I am concerned, this whole political excursion is over. It just proved my original point; politics is so 20th Century. It has no place in my future. It is a pointless waste of attention.
So I will get back to my usual agenda; noticing and reflecting on delightful phenomena that happen to meander through my consciousness.
Compared to cave paintings this is high tech.
I marvel at the entire Technological spectrum.

Being the only person in this community, I guess I'll just post whatever random shit I want to because there isn't anyone else to tell me I'm doing it wrong. I can only sleep so much in the run of a day, after all.

The 19th grandchild picture!! Maybe.. I just happen to find humans fascinating and feel that raising humans is a more interesting and engaging activity than raising, say, cats or orchids.
As a child I roamed around naked to no ill effect. Unclothedness was looked upon as normal and unremarkable.
I raised my sons that way too, and their sons as well.
I have always felt comfortable in my skin and rather casual about taboos. This is why I like Rainbow Gatherings and such. You can clean me up and dress me up but beneath it I am a savage. Which is also why I love living in the 'hood here. I always gravitative to the worst neighborhoods.
I once had Theo introduce me to some friends of his as "Maestro Badass".
In certain circles I am known as the Beast-master, but I do not master, only befriend.
Playing Dungeons and Dragons with the boyz, I tried persuade them to let me make up my own spells. They said if I made up my own spells I would always win, and that it wasn't fair.
But it is very fair with win/win situations. But they were playing as warriors and barbarians (hey! They were 11-17is!). So there was no point arguing with them! Besides there were more of them and much bigger than me, and I was playing as a cleric or a mage as usual. (Low strength, high intelligence.) I like to have a certain amount of vitality and good body dynamics just for ease of focus and clarity of mind.

I know you thought of playing Pygmalion to my Galatea! Henry my Liza Doolittle.
Yeah, I'm so vain. I probably think this song is about me. Narcissist, eh?
Mirror, Mirror on the wall!

I'll be your mirror, reflect who you are in case you don't know the beauty you are.

Don't fear the Reaper! (Or the reefer, for that matter!)
This is a sketch by M.C.Escher.
In my cosmology Death and I are either Best of friends or one and the same, just like the two-headed monster.
In many the dark and lonely hours, wracked by pain and confusion, I would find solace at Death's Door, where, after so many repeat visits, Death eventually built me a nice little cabin right outside his gates, where we would while away many the pleasant hour drinking tea and chatting pleasantly.
Although I had offered to stay, he preferred me to return and receive healing in exchange for stories.
The first time I encountered Death, I almost died of a botched gall bladder operation. I went to the beautiful Gate, which throbs with energy, and conversed there with an Entity. I was told I had the choice to stay in this radiant, wholesome place, or to return to where I felt I had responsibilities and loved ones so back I went.
At one point I was given an all-access pass so I could easily travel between the Realms.
The Golden Shore. The Golden Door. The Promised Land.
