UPDATE:
We are overwhelmed (and excited and grateful) for the enormous response we have gotten and hope every one of you will benefit and find something awesome for your program. As such, there is no way I will be able to make appointments for every person who has contacted us, especially as we are wrapping up our last program. Instead, we are opening up more times for you to visit during the next week:

Closing sale times:

Sunday, December 11th 4-6pm
Thursday, December 15th 6-8pm
Saturday, December 17, 12-6pm
Sunday, December 18th, 10-6pm

Curiosity Hacked Oakland Lab
6036 Telegraph Ave, Oakland 94609

Feel free to share with other educators and makerspaces, and we hope to see you there for some amazing deals on fantastic making essentials!

*Note: Please do not show up at the Lab without contacting us first. We are still running programs (like preparing for our big CHILL Maker Exhibition this weekend!) and will not be able to help you without some notice.

Finally, I am touched by all the kind words of support that many of you have sent. I am proud of Curiosity Hacked- I did exactly what I set out to do and am thrilled so many have picked up the maker torch and are doing incredible work. While there is more work to do, we are closing because we are simply ready to do the work in a different way. I am opening a small workshop is North Berkeley, where I will still be holding classes, and will now be able to say yes to all of the consulting and other dynamic projects that allow me to do what I do best: create, experiment, and play with education. Next year will be 25 years for me of being an educator, and I have big ideas for the next 25! I hope to see many of you at the Lab next week, and at future events.

Warmly, Sam

Special event in Oakland: Wednesday 9/16/15 at 6:30pm
Sarah Granger is a digital media author, speaker, and strategist. In her book "The Digital Mystique" she uses her expertise in social technology and online culture to show us how digital media is shaping our lives.
Join us for an evening of reading and discussion as we dive deeper into her chapter "The Kids Are Online" and explore how kids are using social media, online forums, and a unlimited amount of information to build their future. How do we parent and keep our kids safe? What happens when they are more Internet literate than we are? How can they start strategically building their online brand now?
This event is sure to be lively and informative! Tickets are available for admission, with the option of pre-purchasing a book. A limited quantity of the book will also be available for purchase at the event.
