Christian Civil War

Look around you at America today.  The majority of the Christian Community is at odds with each other in a way that I’ve never seen before.  It is all because of the 2016 presidential election.  Senator Ted Cruz supporters are posting mean articles and are making negative comments on social media and to each other about Donald Trump.  And Donald Trump supporters are posting mean articles and are making negative comments about Cruz.  Kasich supporters have jumped in there to.

If you don't believe me just take a look for yourself.  Negative and hateful speech is everywhere.  And I’m afraid that this fighting will leave permanent damage and scars that could keep Christians from being as close as they were before the election.  It could also cause them to not being as good at serving God after the election.  So if you wondered, "Why in the world is he calling this the ‘Christian Civil War’ ", (When there hasn’t been any physical violence yet) I think you can see that I have made a pretty good case for being concerned about the Christian community being divided.  And even though there is not any physical violence among Christians, there is indeed violence and damage being done.  It’s just the verbal and emotional kind.  This is War!

Now I will tell you, I am very much a Christian and a Patriot.  And believe me when I tell you that Satan is loving every minute of this tension between Christians.  We need to stop fighting this "Christian Civil War", and start fighting the real war, which is against Satan.  As a united Christian people, we must unite to defeat Satan! Even in the middle of our presidential election.  Ephesians 6:12 says: “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”. Now, it would be wrong for me to present a problem without presenting a solution. So here's the solution:

1.     Stop contributing to the negativity that is damaging, scarring and possibly tearing Christians apart.  At best this will cause us to be less effective in serving God.

2.     Tell your parents, friends and family about this article so they can read it and hopefully do the same.

3.     And lastly, don’t forget God’s word because God’s word is truth.  He has given us all the power to handle these situations.  If you see anyone write or say something negative or hateful, before you comment back, remember Proverbs 15:1, “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger”

4.     PRAY! PRAY! PRAY!

So, you have a choice to make, a choice to obey God or to disobey God.  One has a reward and the other has a consequence.  Which one will you choose?

Thank you for reading and God Bless,
