Sources that are renewable are natural, like wind, rain, tides, are always available and can be always used when needed. They are free to use and have low carbon discharges. The article explains that they may not be easy to set up, but they provide jobs to millions of people and they cost less. Sources that are non-renewable, like fossil fuels, natural gas, oil, and coal, are not environmentally friendly and can make a grave impact on your health. Although they are cheap to convert from one type of energy to another, these resources can expire which can result in sky rocketing prices and we will have to use jeopardized resources to create more non-renewable resources. Read this article by Conserve Energy Future to learn more about the ways non-renewable and renewable energy can destroy and benefit the environment.

Another significant threat to us and our environment is air pollution. It affects us in our everyday lives, whether you see it or not. Air pollution has been proven to negatively affect our public health. On September 12, 2016, Greenfacts reported that deaths caused by air pollution cost 225 billion USD to the global economy. This staggering figure shows how bad the pollution factor has become. Pollution also affects life expectancy, so those of you who hope to live to 100, if nothing changes, you'll be out of luck, and people will die earlier and earlier. The planet's natural communities and regenerating bio-capacity are being treated disrespectfully and, as a result, this compromises the ability of the planet to sustain life. Forests, fisheries, oceans, rangeland, freshwater systems (lakes, wetlands, rivers) and other natural ecosystems are all threatened while are almost at the point collapse. Water, land, and air are getting more and more polluted, water tables are falling, soil erosion(wearing away) is leading to desertification, global warming is well moving into process, and species are dying out 1000 times faster than their natural rate of extinction. The human race has grown to dominate the entirety of the earth and its materials/resources. This video exemplifies how the everyday lives of humans degrades the environment. When it comes to the Earth and it's care, conflicts are certainly, and literally, heating up. Our only hope to negate the impending average temperature increase of 1.5 degrees celsius ( 2.7 degrees fahrenheit) each year is to cut our carbon pollution by 90%! The National Wildlife Federation informs us that, "If average temperatures do increase past 1.5 degrees celsius, 20-30% of plant and animal species might be at risk of extinction. ". Find out more about this ever growing threat by checking out the National Wildlife Federation's article on it.
