13 Reasons Why, Season 2, was released on Friday, May 18. A new online toolkit from SAVE is a comprehensive resource for parents, youth, professionals, and media.

Hey All,

Normally share my latest blog post but wanted share a conversation I had with Megan Landry, MHA, BSN.. she is the director of the Health Informatics Program at the University of New England. Health Informatics is the study of building health tech from apps, EHR's, data analytics and beyond. They also have a social work program but she reached out to me talk about what information social workers needed in terms of Health IT...I also talked about things social workers might need from Informatics programs. Here are my take aways..

1) If you have a Health Informatics program reach out to them and talk about potential collaborations. We talked about how mental health and child welfare have increasing tech needs and we probably could learn a lot from them.

2) There has been a tremendous increase in Nurses enrolling in these Health Infortmatics programs but little or no representation from social work. We should be informing alumni/student about this as a potential career option as the jobs for Informatics Analysts will sky rocket.

and/or 3) look to Intro to Health Informatics texts to see how you can cook them into curriculum design for social work. Don't have any specific recommendations but might look into this in the coming weeks.

would love hear if anyone else thoughts about this...
