Here is the first of your blog articles.  This one was written by Alice, Alex and David.  Your homework for tonight/tomorrow night is to read their blog post and leave them a comment on the blog.  (Alice, Alex and David, your homework is to read the comments the other students leave you, and answer any questions they have.)

Aiden, Michael, David, Antoine, Agathe and Oct. This listening is for you. (It is your homework for the weekend.) Here is the worksheet.  There are two pages.  Read both pages before you watch the video. http://www.languages.ac.nz/user/file/150/Watching%20TED%20worksheet.pdf
Do as much of the worksheet as you can.  Watch the video as many times as you like.

On Tuesday you will compare your answers/notes with another student from this group.  Then you will tell a student from the other group about this video.  (The other group is watching a different video.)

This is a difficult listening.  You won't understand everything, and that's OK.  Follow the advice on the worksheet to make this homework easier for you.

If you have any questions about the homework, you can ask them in the comments below.

Have a great weekend!

Today we were talking about CVs.  Here are some examples of highly creative CVs. Have a look.  What do you think about these kinds of CVs?  Which is your favourite?  Would you ever use a non-traditional CV like these?

+ying chen This is for you.  You asked about a pronunciation guide for country names.  Here are a couple of sites that will help.  With this one http://fonetiks.org/nameseng2.html mouse over the country names to hear their pronunciation.  Here's a longer list: http://inogolo.com/guides/countries.  With that one, you have to click on the countries' names to hear their pronunciation.  I've also recorded an MP3 for you.  I'll upload it soon.
