An interesting, fairly thorough metaanalysis of dice analyses. It also includes a link to the now quite well-known saltwater die testing method.

Need something to fill out your players' hexcrawling travels? Maybe you use point-by-point overland traveling, either way, get four more days worth of encounters, just about ready to drop into your game. No more boring encounters of a simple monster or a trap, these encounters are rife with hooks ready to sink into your players and draw them into your world.

I finally got the chance to play in a 7th Sea Game. The setting is a bit daunting to me, and the rules quite different from anything I've played. But still it was a great fun experience I'd love to play more of. I you want to read more of my impressions here is my blog post on the topic:

Hi GMs,

How is this week treating you? I seem to have wasted too much of today preparing for a furniture collection which never arrived. I will need to stack everything back in the garage tonight, and then try again.

Meanwhile, over at Tales of a GM, the long blog post for the weekend was yet another in my series about Improv Encounters. Part 9 explores those scenes where there is no mechanical contest for the Heroes. In the right circumstances, these can be powerful scenes.

We do not always have to throw dice to have fun at the table.

Happy Gaming
Phil
