Should we do what we can to help those who can't help themselves?

If so, to what extent? Where should we draw these lines?

Are tax incentives the proper move or is it too socially invasive?

"Taxing products such as soda, alcohol and tobacco can steer consumers toward healthier choices and avert a ruinous tumble in which obesity fuels disease and medical costs push people further into poverty"_

The difference it makes between having political correctness or not is real, honest and open communication that keeps open the doors that brought us so many freedoms and liberties up to this point, or regressing and conforming to an emotionally fascist society that will tell you what you are allowed to think, what you are allowed to say, or eat and how you are allowed to dress, act, feel, etc.

These are some of the proposals I have seen in response to the Parkland shooting incident [and mass shootings in general]. Which ones do you agree/disagree with? Are there any potential solutions you'd like to add that aren't on the list?

1. Comprehensive Background Checks

2. "No Gun" List Similar To "No Fly" List But With Ability To Appeal

3. Emphasis on Mental Health

4. Bump Stock Ban (which allow widely available semiautomatic rifles to fire like fully automatic guns)

5. Raise Age to 21

6. Stepping Up School Security with
a) Surveillance Cameras
b) Metal Detectors

7. Arming Schools by
a) Arming Teachers
b) Adding Armed Guards
c) Adding Armed Military Personnel

8. Banning Semiautomatic assault-style weapons, such as the AR-15, that have military-style features.
