Hello, I'm a newly-minted Moderator. While researching the standards/capabilities of the role in G+, I came across this community, and it seems quite helpful.

I've joined Community Moderators to learn all about the responsibilities and duties required of Moderators, towards achieving  a level of proficiency and professionalism within the 'Force" Star Wars community second to none.

I take the responsibility as Moderator very seriously and pledge to do my very best to maintain a well run, organized forum in maintaining the same exacting standards that made the Force the tremendous success it has been.

+Robert Lamar Thank you for your kind, considerate comments. It seems the community for Moderators has a lot to say about other aspects of life as well.

Hi all
I am a moderator for a couple of photography communities, one of which is concerned with copyright infringement on G+. I am trying to encourage all communities to get involved in challenging the current situation  regarding plagiarism on google+ . I would like to hear from any  community moderators who are concerned about this issue.

The owner of POETS where I moderate is a fervent campaigner against photography theft and  a copyright advocate. All images displayed in the community must be the members own original work and copyrighted, or it gets deleted.

I'm the owner of a fan page and a community page of +WWE King Of Fans® #WWEKOF, even though my real name is not the same...

Anyways as google changes the style and design of the pages, why can't they make the community page can have a new design of its own.. Caz all the community pages have the same design from the time it started... And just like the pages views are shown.. Why can't similar stuffs be added to the community page also..!!

Hi. I started two communities about a week ago. One (Panfyantism) is about starting a new ideology, and grew well in the first few days but has slowed down considerably. The other (Physics Debates) is specifically for debating new physics theories, but hasn't gotten much action. Then I joined this community a few days ago, and about the same I joined and was promoted to moderator of a debate community that by its nature will require little if any moderation (Anything-Goes Debaters), and which has had a good start. I will likely ask already-answered questions, as I have no interest in diving into the multitude of posts already made here. I mainly need help in member growth (aka reaching the right audience). If you want to check out my communities, you can go to my profile or search the names (they're unique). I will invite the co-owner of the community i mentioned. If you want to know about me myself, you can check my profile.

+Vance Stevens When you join a community, always check the About this community card before you post or comment in it. The rules vary -- sometimes dramatically -- from community to community.

hi. i am the owner of the Twokinds fan community
and the battleship craft fans community.

i'm new at owning communities and would like to learn a lot

about me: i make communities of things that don't have any community to them. i don't like making ripoffs and i like to be unique even though the themes i chose are vastly known (somewhat)

and i'm only 15 deal with it

I believe you can fix that in your settings and restrictions. More control in private groups. If you're need homeless services contact me outside this group, I'm the Communications Director for LASHA.org. George

Greetings. I'm Pamela and I created the "Poverty and #Welfare in Our United States" community. I'm new to this so I'm taking my time with it and am seeking out moderators before I start inviting folks I know to join in. I'm already finding information in this Community helpful. Thank you.

'Ello, gov'ner. Hi, I'm Michelle. I moderate a community made for My Little Pony fans (Yes, I'm a brony/pegasister. Don't sue me. xD), and it's quite a wonderful job being able to interact with people who enjoy the show and also being able to see the wonderful art and other things people post to the community.

As a little backstory for how I became moderator of that community... it's a shortie. I was a regular poster to the community. I posted a "What Does The Fox Say" picture which also included Rainbow Dash in a fox-like costume. For reasons unknown, the post was deleted. At first I was a bit hesitant to contact the mods, but after a bit I decided to contact them about it, explain the issue, and ask if I may have a reason as to why it was deleted. No mod who has commented there knows why it was deleted, so we figured it was either a glitch in the Matrix Google+ system or a mod who was lying. The owner, +Alexandru Trucu, seemed impressed by the maturity of how I handled the situation, and invited me to a Hangout chat, where he talked to me and offered mod status. It took a bit of convincing as I didn't exactly feel like I'd do a good job, but eventually I accepted.) (You can see the post where I questioned the deletion, with all it's comments and such, here: http://goo.gl/e1MUR4)

As a mod, I think it is quite fun. On posts that don't violate the rules set out in the community, I occasionally like to joke about pretending to delete, report, and such, posts. So far people seem to notice that I'm more of a light-hearted person when it comes to post removals and bans, so often unless I can obviously see it breaks the rules, I tend to either report it to the other mods or leave it be. Some have also noticed that I try to be one of the nicer mods in the community, and that I don't like to ban people. In fact, I actually prefer to kick them and let the other mods do the banning. When it comes to post removals, I try to be understanding and kind, and thus comment appropriately. For example, if it's a new person to the community, I might say "Hey, sorry, I'll have to remove this post because [reason]. Since you're new here, maybe you forgot to read the rules, which you can find here: [link to rules]." Stuff like that.

Also, I find it kinda fun acting like a regular member. I've even ended up having to remind myself that I'm a mod at times because I get so into having fun. It's like that with people like +Erich HimmelFreude too: Try to have fun with people in your community, but when it comes time to assert authority over troublemakers, don't bring it down too hard on them.

...wow, I just realized how long I made this. Sorry if I babbled on for a bit. I tend to do that when I talk about stuff. ^^' Anyways I just thought I'd introduce myself to the community and see what you guys think about me. (Just expect a bit of joking here and there, haha)
