I am taking an eLearning tools development course.  I need to evaulate three different tools that are not taught in the course. During the course, we are learning about Articulate Studio, Captivate, Lectors Publisher, Camtasia, and Storyline.  What other eLearning development tools would you recommend I evaluate?  I am not looking for Learning Management Systems.

Could anyone possibly help me please?

I'm looking into different platforms which would lend themselves to community building and haven't found one that I like yet. Any suggestions/advice/recommendation please?

Many thanks in advance!

Quick question. I have been asked to design something Captivate. They want the user to enter I. Their name and email address to "register" how do I do that? I know it's simple but I'm scratching my head on this one. Ease help has to be done like today.

I know it's based in Australia but who can pass up a free webinar on learning technologies!

If you can't make it to the webinar you can still register - that way you'll get a link to the recording once the webinar's concluded.

Here's a sneek-peak at our CEO's slide deck for his #Moodle  webinar later today for the National VET #E-Learning Strategy. Enjoy!

Demo of our responsive elearning framework, which we propose making an open source authoring tool. See what you think, one version that responds and optimises for multiple devices. If you are interested come along to our meeting next week at 2pm on 2nd July in London. We would love to get lots of people involved and develop a free tool that everyone can use to develop one elearning module for multi-device delivery. If you want to know more just contact me.

I have some faculty working on a project over the summer and am looking for a rapid development tool (PPT-based) that produces mobile-friendly (HTML5) output. Is there any software you can recommend that doesn't cost $500+? The inexpensive solutions seem to be Flash only. :(

So you're looking for a score based thing? Quiz with a score that reports via scorm the final score to the lms?

If so, I don't think ppt can do that. You'd need an add on in ppt to set variables which hold the scores.

I made a score based test in ppt using vba. But that won't work when exported to html5, I'm afraid.

The Lugaso LMS has a great online course authoring tool built in. No need to build courses with 3rd party tools then upload them into your LMS where they will not play because half of the browsers will not play flash.

In Lugaso you can simply compile your courses from any number of objects you have in your library and even add javascript for that bit extra.

P.s Lugaso will play flash files in all the browsers! Don't ask me how I did it, it's a secret ;-)

What a pity it's just a bunch of logos.

No ranking. No strong or weak spots displayed in a table.

Not very informative. Alas.

+Raphael Molinav Thanks for the overview.

You might have added PowerPoint in combination with a PPT-to-HTML5 converter.
Or simply PowerPoint itself when you're doing your e-learning on PCs of MACs.
