The deadline to submit your games - be they RPG, kids, board, or war game - is April 10th. Bring forth your GM skills and show Ottawa how your favourite game "should be played."

(Note: Cangames does not believe there is only one wrong way to play games and that's never playing them.)

Some games feel like a staple of Cangames. I've heard about Munchkin for years and it wasn't until my first Cangames that I played, so it feels right that there will be more Munchkin this year. It's been called "D&D for people who hate D&D." What do you think?

Ogre is a desperate contest between a super-intelligent, bloodthirsty AI-controlled tank, and the squads of infantry, armor, and artillery fighting to stop its advance. You can be the Ogre and ruthlessly steamroll the humans in your way, or play the defenders, trying to defeat it at any cost.

The game is easy to learn and quick to play. It only takes a half-hour, but you'll want to do it over and over – and with 16 unique map overlays to change up each playthrough, you can! Will the Command Post survive this time, or will the Ogre triumph yet again?

And you can fight the behemoth in two sessions of Ogre on Saturday, May 20th at Cangames. Go to www.cangames.ca to find how to enlist.

As seen on Tabletop, Fiasco is considered one of the great RPGs of the modern era. As described on the publisher's page, "Fiasco is inspired by cinematic tales of small time capers gone disastrously wrong – inspired by films like Blood Simple, Fargo, The Way of the Gun, Burn After Reading, and A Simple Plan. You’ll play ordinary people with powerful ambition and poor impulse control. There will be big dreams and flawed execution. It won’t go well for them, to put it mildly, and in the end it will probably all go south in a glorious heap of jealousy, murder, and recrimination. Lives and reputations will be lost, painful wisdom will be gained, and if you are really lucky, your guy just might end up back where he started."

Run by +Jason Pitre, you can sign up to do bad things to bad people at http://www.cangames.ca

From +BoardGameGeek...

Splendor is a game of chip-collecting and card development. Players are merchants of the Renaissance trying to buy gem mines, means of transportation, shops—all in order to acquire the most prestige points. If you're wealthy enough, you might even receive a visit from a noble at some point, which of course will further increase your prestige.

Check out our online schedule to book your session of Splendor. https://cangames2017.sched.com

Built to accommodate various levels of experience in the same game, we have several sessions of this amazing game all weekend long.
