301 Redirects

I have a client who previously had set up his blog as such:

domainname.com/page-name-1 (this was the first time)
domainname.com/page-name-2 (changed his mind on page name and this is it currently)

Both of the above will need to get redirected based on what you see right below here.

He would not like for current and future post URL's to be formatted as below:

domainname.com/name-of-post (notice there is no page name like the above or even 'blog' in the permalink)

For his older posts he would like those to be changed as such:

domainname.com/page-name-1/name-of-post to just domainname.com/name-of-post

What would be the proper way of doing this?

Initially I'm thinking you could just redirect /page-name-1 and /page-name-2 to the root directory.

Is this correct?

Thanks in advance

I've been seeing a lot of photoshop to css3 apps coming up.  I personally don't like 'em.  I feel like they just take away from learning what you should be doing, plus you can never trust how the automation spits out code... I'm I being to critical?

What do you all think?

Saw this mentioned in Inc magazine. If you're looking to do cartoon-style videos or explainer demo videos then this may be for you.
