I'm updating my scripts to their latest libraries, and with #JQuery 3.1.1 and the latest Form Validation Script, the remote check is giving me this error: " TypeError: b.success is not a function "

Any thoughts or reasons?

HI Phouc I have also he same issue and have paid for formvalidation that gives us the free upgrades but once you release how do we get hold of this upgrade. Michael I have managed to work around the remote issue by using a call back and a ajax call

+Phuoc Huu Hi, I reached out to you on Twitter but have not heard back from you.

Q: Need to disable form submit before validation. I understand that FV only listens for changes in the form, and if none, then the validator will not process, but is there a way to force this?

Q: If not, how can I return back to FV an error once I process on the server?

Example:
'Referred By' is required, but the user never enters data into that input, so FV never checks.

When they click submit, a click event is triggered which bypasses FV and processes the form.

An error is returned. Can I return this back to FV and have it report back to the user with normal error handling?

Thanks!

Is there a way to stop formvalidation from working as soon as the page loads

Hi Phuoc.

Here is my code for validation of one field within the document ready function of the javascript:

$("#rooms-form")
.formValidation({
framework : 'bootstrap',
/* Show Errors as a tooltip. If you want errors to show below the field
then Delete the err object */
err: {
container: 'tooltip'
},
// Feedback Icons
icon: {
valid: 'glyphicon glyphicon-ok',
invalid: 'glyphicon glyphicon-remove',
validating: 'glyphicon glyphicon-refresh'
},

// List of fields and their validation rules
fields: {
data_RoomName : {
// Trigger 'blur' sets to validate field when lose of focus
trigger: 'blur',
message: 'Room Name is required',
validators: {
notEmpty: {
message: 'Enter the resource room name'
},
stringLength: {
min: 1,
max: 50,
message: 'The resource room name must be between 1 and 50 characters long'
}
}
},

Now as soon as the page loads, the RoomName is evaluated returning an error as seen in the screen shot below:

The field hasn't got focus, neither has it lost focus yet.

Ah maybe that's it, first set autofocus for field then it is fine. Sorry to bother you.

Regards

I've got the basics working nicely, but now trying to get some more complex elements working. I'm running bootstrap3 but with full colour icons and they are picking up fine.
Simple one expanding panel with a radio button yes and no opens a panel with extra questions for yes ( student load status for context ) and with a little extra JS it folds nicely as the extra questions are just extra radio buttons, but the employment status one opens up a panel with P45 details for the middle radio button. and adds a date and couple of extra questions which I'd like to toggle the green highlight on the outer panel when the inner bit is 'valid'.
I'll be doing a crib sheet for my elements in a bit, and I can live with the current functionality to get the site live, but would like to obviusly tidy the loose ends.

Only validator that works on Foundation5 is notEmpty, all others improperly validate.

If I sent the user name field in the script to emailAddress, I get the following:

When I submit without entering anything, it will not validate.

However, if I enter a valid password (notEmpty), the user name filed validates without any content being entered.

This error is on all validations that are not the default notEmpty.

Please advise. Thank you!

type='email' would not work on just emailAddress. I had to add both, the notEmpty and emailAddress for type='email' to validate properly.

I'm using formvalidation in bootstrap modal. First time it works flawlessly. It's not initiates reCaptcha whe close modal and reopen it. Other validation controls works in any case.

Hello,

My name is Corrin. I am helping my husband Terry build a Bootstrap form with the FormValidation plugins. I'm somewhat of a newbie so I'm trying to get up to speed with form validation and thought this formValidation plugin would be easy to do. I copied some code and added the downloaded files. I cannot get it to work so I put it up on GitHub and hope someone can help. I have two html files—one is just a simple bootstrap form I copied from the samples. The other is the html page is a form, in progress, for Website project. Any advice is appreciated.

Hi,

Could I define validator like following ? My problem is in "err" and "selector" line, though it doesn't throw an error but it also doesn't validate. If I pass exact class name and id then it works fine but I need to do using find(). Please suggest..

relhazard: {enabled: false,
err: $form.find('#div-activity-tree-msg').attr('id'),
selector: $form.find('#related-hazard-display').attr('class'),
validators: {
callback: {
callback: function(value, validator, $field) {
if ( related_hazards_arr.length > 0 ) {
validator.updateStatus('relhazard', validator.STATUS_VALID, 'callback');
return {valid:true};
} else {
return {valid:false,message:"Please select hazard in the tree."};
}
}
}
}
}

Please advise how can I validate values of two fields to be identical, ignoring their case.

e.g.
Name: "Rahul"
Confirm name: "rahul"

both should be validated as identical.

Great work for Bootstrap4...Thanks
I have a little issue with this script ...what i miss ?...

i have just changed the class name but it seems than now this do not clear the input field but only remove the class ..

.on("init.field.fv", function(e, data) {
var $parent = data.element.parents(".form-group"),
$icon = $parent.find(\'.fv-control-feedback[data-fv-icon-for="\' + data.field + \'"]\');
$icon.on("click.clearing", function() {
if ($icon.hasClass("fv-control-feedback fa fa-ban fa-lg")) {
data.fv.resetField(data.element);
}
})
}

Hello,

I have a form inside a table width two rows. Column values from those rows are depending on each other. For example, row 1:column 1 and row 2:column 1 are the values I need to validate. I'd like to validate both values at once and put validation icon in table header inside <th> element. Currently, when I put icon inside <th> it ends up outside of the table. It must be some positioning issue.
Do you have any suggestions on how to make this validator and how to put icon inside <th>?
I'm using Bootstrap 3.

Having bitten the bullet and bought a licence for FV I'm moving some of my legacy code over. I have a working regexp for UK NI Number ... "^[a-ceghj-nopr-tw-zA-CEGHJ-NOPR-TW-Z]{1}[a-ceghj-nopr-tw-zA-CEGHJ-NPR-TW-Z]{1}[0-9]{6}[A-D\s]{1}" which is clean on he tester and working in other places, but fails to validate when I drop it in FV. Any ideas what I've got wrong?
