RuneQuest - Adventures in Glorantha - a quick Armchair Adventures' Guide to the QuackStart

I went on a HeroQuest on Free RPG day on 17th July 2017: to get hold of RuneQuest QuickStart. There was such a great anticipation of the new RuneQuest, I knew that there would be competition to get hold of the 10 copies available. In my imagination, there…

I like hearing how people have found other podcasts through ours and not just the network shows (but certainly those) but also shows like Cthulhu and Friends and OneShot.

Are there any listeners to our show that found us through someone else? If so, who - so i can say thanks

Since I'm already in an asking mood (have you voted for the ENnies yet?)

If you didn't already know, our show has a Patreon account - this is a site that manages pledges of monetary support for creators. Basically you can set up a recurring monthly pledge and it gets auto billed to your CC at the beginning of the month and the creators get those funds (minus the site's fees of course) to help support their work.

Currently we have 50 people that donate to our show in amounts ranging from $1/ month to $25/month. Which in itself is amazing. I've been able to do so many things becasue of this support, including upgrading all our audio equipment, buying new cameras, a new computer as well as helping to fund my convention trips, not to mention paying our yearly hosting and domain fees.

Here's the thing, though - if everyone who listens to our show on a regular basis was able to pledge just $1/month (which for many people you'd not even notice) then I would be able to quit my day job and focus on the Academy as well as AcadeCon full time.

If you'd like to help support our show and this dream of mine - please consider a $1/month donation.

Here's one from the vaults. Our first attempt at adding sound FX to the show. I wish I had done a better job of layering them, but I still think this is a really fun episode. As a Field Trip we didn't worry about sticking to the rules :)

The ENnie nominations were announced today. The RPG Academy is once again up for best podcast.

Not sure yet when voting opens, but we'll be sure to let people know when it does.

spent some time today reviewing some other podcasts' patreons to see where we can add/change ours to be more successful.

I plan on making a few smallish modifications to the individual tiers but mostly focusing on the goals which effect everyone.

I'll be adding a goal to break all our shows into their own feeds. We've been asked to do this several times and it's just a lot of work, but if we can get to that goal I'll suck it up and do it.

I'll be adding a goal to revisit the A New World campaign. It's been one of the most requested topics - people want to know what was going on and where that game was going. Obviosuly (and sadly) we will be unable to continue the AP as it was (no Evan, Niko or Rob) BUT Caleb and I have been tossing ideas around on how we could revisit that game world and we think we've got a good idea. If we get to that goal, we'll find out if you like it as much as we do.

I'll be adding a goal for us to revisit the Dead Center campaign. This one we will get the gang back together and continue these wacky adventures. It won't be a regular AP, but maybe 2-3 times a year we can record several hours worth of eps.

And of course I'm adding in the $2k/month goal of going full time. If we can get our patreon up to $2k (which granted is A LOT to hope for) then I'll be able to quit my day job and focus on the Academy full time; that means more time to plan/record/edit shows, more time to stream content on a regular basis, more time for the YouTube channel content (DMing 101 videos and Synersy sessions) and finally time to start knocking out these adventures we've been working on for way too long.

If you're interested in helping us out - please go visit www.patreon.com/TheRpgAcademy if everyone who listens to our show regularly donated $1/ month. We'd be over $2000 now.
