Tomorrow is March 1, Spring is at the door and that means Spring Cleaning needs to be done... so I'm changing the approval process a bit.

1. Please post short reviews (which is why they're called mini-reviews)
2. Do NOT post links to the outside sources, people come here to read reviews, not to be a jumping point elsewhere
3. Please include the rating (via stars) to give people clear indication at a glance, for EVERY review you post

Anything that doesn't conform to the above will NOT be accepted!

#ISpitOnYourGrave is the perfect example of the malignant cancer known as “rape culture” growing in the U.S. This film shines a clean light into the dingy corner infested with the horrors humans may produce. This film resonates with our society today, just as it did when first released. Check out my full review and let me know what you think! #FilmReview #MovieReview #RapeCulture

War for the planet of the apes
they totally ruined it (the movie, not the planet)
Rating: ☆☆ (only for explosions and Caesar was cool )

They ruined this one. If you're a liberal and like PC - you'll totally enjoy this movie. If you hate white males with Christian crosses on their necks, who have zero mercy, compassion or empathy - you'll love this movie.

If you're a fan of this classic series, and a normal person, you'll see that they ruined it completely. Humans are horrible, monkeys... sorry, apes are good and only kill for the betterment of humanity... I mean monkeynity? Is there such a word. Bottom line - you can skip this extremely long, totally PC, impossible to believe, although with some nice explosions, monkey fest. Usually I don't do spoilers, but since I've wasted money and time on this one - why not? All the humans get killed, some of the monkeys survive and find new homeland and Caesar dies also his son Cornelius will hear the story from this French monkey, who was pure and good and... I better stop here.

Anyway, don't waste your time/money.

Despicable Me 3
worthy sequel, almost as good as the first
Rating: ☆☆☆☆.5

If you liked the first one, and I liked it a LOT, you were probably somewhat disappointed at the second one. And if you became a fan of the franchise - you were extremely disappointed with the Minions movie... I love these little guys, but that movie was a waste of time/money. Someone didn't glue it together well, with the only positive part was seeing Gru at the end.

With Rotten Tomatoes' reviews from critics - I went in expecting something less than DM2, but was pleasantly surprised with amount of #fun and original goodness this one offered. As I said, if you loved the first one - you'll like this one. Not quite as good, but very close, certainly better than DM2. The villain is Vector-like at times, but also very different and a lot of fun. Gru is Gru, and there's now Lucy and the minions, of course. The story is similar in a way, but original enough.

The bad news - they elected to not include Prof. Nefario here (well, he's mentioned but very briefly), I wished they would've used him. Otherwise - it's all good and totally worth seeing!

Wonder Woman
ok movie
Rating: ☆☆☆.5

This is a long movie where after all kinds of women Captain Kirk gets to kiss a super hero one. The movie is well done. Acting ok, effects ok, story ok... however, nothing spectacular, refreshingly new or exceptional.

A bit of Hollywood PC nonsense had to be in there, we find an American Indian somehow in the middle of action in Europe, complaining of Kirk's people 'taking everything away'.

Both of my kids loved it though. Can you wait and watch it home for a buck? Absolutely!

As for the photo below - yes, that's what I'm looking forward to 😎

Hell or High Water
very good movie
Rating: ☆☆☆☆

It's a little hard to watch Capt. Kirk being an unshaven bank robber from Texas, but he does a fine job as such, as well as the rest of the cast. If you long to see the life in the USA, Texas to be more precise - this is a movie for you. It spans just a few days in the life of two brothers, who rob banks to right the wrongs of the system which kept their family in poverty for generations.

Texas ranger, played by Jeff Bridges, is a smart mouth-blabbing fellow, who is hot on the trail.

The movie is a bit slow, but perhaps it's a good thing, doing a fine job showing life in more vivid detail and pace.

I didn't LOVE this movie, but I did like it quite a bit.

Star Trek Beyond
Great movie - lousy title
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

If you're looking for the meaning of the title - don't bother. I hope they fired whoever came up with 'Beyond'. That aside, the movie starts out a bit slow (ie nothing like the last one), but then it gets going and going and doesn't stop... until the end.

It had the usual share of a number of funny moments, awesome action, more character building/bonding, excellent villain, awesome visual effects. In other words - an excellent addition to the new Star Strek saga.

Even though JJ Abrams wasn't directing this one, he was one of the main producers and clearly involved in the process and Justin Lin gets kudos for taking someone's project and not screwing it up, actually doing an excellent job moving it forward.

Including homage to late Leonard Nimoy was great to see, although a bit strange of how it was done.

If you're a fan of Star Trek in general, and the last 2 in particular - you'll love this movie as well.
