The 3rd full moon, this March. The saucer is a lamp here on earth. Both pics desaturated in PS to remove fringe color noise.

Shores of the Cosmic Ocean, via our friend Josh Blash

He wrote:  "With the Milky Way just starting to become visible again, I figured I would try to catch a glimpse while we were in-between snow storms, here in New Hampshire. I headed over to Rye Beach and shot this around 4:30am, but I only had about an hour before the blue hour started.

Given it was -6 degrees, I wouldn't have been out any longer than that anyway!"

ISS last night over Kauai, Hawaii submitted to EarthSky via Ted Fleming!

He wrote:  "After reading details about the International Space Shuttle's flight schedule over Kauai, I drove to the west side of the island to try for a picture over Waimea town. A lucky break in the clouds that were covering most of the island after sunset and there it was right on schedule... 7:51 pm."

Tonight's moon and Jupiter from the Moon Appreciation Society in northern Italy.  Read more and find charts:
http://earthsky.org/tonight/moon-jupiter-come-out-as-soon-as-darkness-falls

The moon has a "corona" around it. That's a smaller halo of light than the 22-degree halo we often see in photos.

22-degree halo info here: http://bit.ly/16ajPGQ

Corona info here: http://www.atoptics.co.uk/droplets/cormoon.htm

Amazing iridescent cloud at last night's sunset over Mutare, Zimbabwe from our friend Peter Lowenstein.  Thank you, Peter!

He wrote:  "At sundown today as the sun was setting  through some cloud on the horizon a thin brightly colored iridescent band developed which intensified to produce some beautiful rainbow colored artifacts including 'ocean waves' and a 'dove.'  The whole display only lasted for a few minutes before fading away.
