If it's still dark where you are, go outside and look for the little star near the moon. It's Aldebaran ... http://earthsky.org/toni…/moon-aldebaran-before-dawn-july-29

Great photo opportunity!
From most of North America, the moon and star Aldebaran will appear a hair’s-breadth apart. From Texas, Mexico or Central America, the moon will cover Aldebaran.

Attended Acadia National Park Night Sky Party last night. First time I ever looked thru a "real" telescope. Saw Saturn ring's and star clusters live.
A bucket list item for me.
Thanks Acadia NP.
Now where are the Northern Lights. I want some sun spots or something to light up the night sky.

A View of the Unusual Schiller Crater on the Moon
The first thing you notice with this crater is the elongated shape, it almost looks like a footprint left on the surface. The crater measures about 179 x 71 kilometers and was formed by at least tw…

Messier 8 – The Lagoon Nebula in the Constellation Sagittarius
I started out trying to image Mars and Saturn after a very hot and humid day on July 23, 2016 – needless to say it wasn’t happening. Since I was setup, I decided to do some short exposures of a few…

Daniel Leclerc in Montreal combined 3 images to make this single image of Saturn.

Planet guide: http://bit.ly/29YWCyG

" Sky-Watcher 8-inch Newtonian telescope with a 3X Celestron Barlow lens.
ZWO ASI120MC camera at 100 fps.
AutoStakkert and RegiStax.
I got 3 consecutive avi files with relatively good seeing and I combined them as a longer unique avi file for treating larger number of frames. I can very rarely do this because seeing conditions are generally not that stable. It is the first time I process so many frames for a single capture(23000 frames out of 25000)!"
