Hi Earthsky! Here is a shot I snapped of the Messier 92 globular cluster in Hercules on Sunday April 19, 2015 at Frosty Drew Observatory in Charlestown, Rhode Island, USA. We have had an excellent stretch of fantastic skies!

Moon and Venus on April 21st 2015. Taken from Middletown Maryland (US). Canon T3i.

Also seen as tiny dot below is Aldebaran in the Constellation of Taurus.
As the night progressed the V shape of the constellation became more prominent.

Hi Earthsky. Here is a shot I captured of Vega while equalizing my telescope. I figured with the coming Lyrid Meteor Shower peak tomorrow and Thursday morning, and quick shot of Vega, which is near the radiant point, was appropriate.

Meteor smoke!   Abhinav Singhai submitted this photo this morning.
He said the meteor MIGHT have been a Lyrid.  That shower is going on now:  http://bit.ly/1E6wLR6

Meteor!  Sheryl R. Garrison caught this one around 3 a.m. last night, in Sandpoint Idaho.

The Lyrid meteor shower is going on now, and peaks this week:

"Blessed with another clear night for the final night of International Dark Sky Week. This time I went to one of my favorite birding spots, not as dark as my back yard but caught this ??? in only one frame. Can't wait for the meteor showers next week...fingers crossed for good viewing conditions."

Thanks for sharing, Sheryl!

The rain was welcome, but we didn't get much.  Lots of dropped foliage, though!

First time shooting the Milky Way with my new Canon 6D. Taken at Muster Field Farm in North Sutton, NH. It was Dark Skies Week and dark spots like this are harder and harder to come by. Light pollution is more problematic every day. The stars are disappearing and that's a damn shame.

Hi Earthsky! Here is my first capture of Saturn for the 2015 viewing season. The New England skies this weekend have been stunning! Over the past few days, night photographers and skywatchers have descended on Frosty Drew Observatory in Charlestown, Rhode Island, USA to revel in the spring time starscape. Minimal sleep has been had since Friday morning and the views are amazing. I snapped the shot early this morning (April, 19) which showcases Saturn's moons: Titan, Rhea, Tethys, and Dione.
