+Alan Beeston That would be three dimensional projection or (surface) glamour, revealed very well of the moon from your perspective. (Artifical visual, luminous/partical augmentation) Glamour

+Terrie Ross Hi, were you trying to shoot a halo around the sun or full moon?  The extra dots in your photo are called "lens flares."  They're internal reflections from your camera - not real objects in the sky.  Here's more about lens flares:  http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/lens-flare.htm

M13 under a full moon

Here is my first picture of the Great globular Cluster in Hercule constellation taken last night (July, 2nd 2015)

The full moon was a bit disturbing and despite the polar alignment was not precisely made, I managed to get a result that I thought worst !

This image is composed of 20 frames of 15 seconds each at ISO 1600 taken with a Canon T3i.

The telescope used is a 200/800 reflector (without coma corrector ^^)

The celestial highlight of the month! Compilations of the sky’s brightest and second-brightest planets to stage their closest conjunction. #Venus #Jupiter #Conjunction

Venus and Jupiter slowly parting company in tonight's beautiful twilight. We had mediocre seeing conditions June 30, the peak night of the conjunction, and solid overcast last night. So with July 2nd's clear skies, I headed out for an effort at getting a landscape photo featuring the planets. It worked out well. #venus   #jupiter   #conjunction   #canon   #astrophotography

Hi Earthsky! Here's a shot I snapped of last nights conjunction of Jupiter and Venus through thick haze and clouds over Jamestown, Rhode Island, USA. The weather has been tough these past couple nights making it difficult to shoot the conjunction. Minutes after shooting this, I lost view of the conjunction to clouds. -Scott
