Im using rq with kubuntu. Everything's fine except for mouse. In order to make it properly work I have to manually open "pointing devices" preferences. By untickimg and ticking again the options such as palm detection I can make them work. How can I make this automatic at boot?

What I like about Razor-QT is that it does not load any apps by default. LXDE loads a ton of stuff. What will happen with LXDE-QT?

I hope not. though LXDE is slightly more polished, I like Razor better.

Nope, guess I'll have to resort to PCmanFM (Which I did not want)

Does Razor-qt have any built-in Power Management settings? If not, what applications are you guys using? I've fallen back to xfce4-power-manager in the past with OpenBox, but I'd love to stick Qt on this install.

Have a look at https://github.com/Razor-qt/razor-qt/wiki/3rd-party-applications

For power management ptbatterysystemtray is recommended.

I could load Razor-qt on my laptop, Antix 32 bit, but it did not appear on my Desktop, Crunchbang 64 bi,t ---both based on Debian Wheezy. Strange.

Crocked Desktop system.  Loaded Semplice 64 bit---based on Debian Sid. Loaded Razor-qt.

It didn't appear in Synaptic on my Desktop. I looked at different repositories and using different versions from different places but I kept getting dependency problems.

Now that I have installed Semplice everything is working fine.

In my work I've been looking for a way to manage wifi devices from the tray.  NetworkManager and WICD are obvious choices for daemon-side, but on the tray side I haven't come across a working Qt implementation for either.  I've tried YaNMa but it seems to be very incomplete.  I had to hack the python to get it to start, but after that I couldn't do much (or finish it, I don't know Python!)

On the very wee end of the wiki I found suggestion to try qconnman, so I did, which led me to discovering connman.  qconnman basically solves the last link in my chain of a lightweight all Qt (at least, glib/gtk-free) desktop.  Then I found that connman requires glib which.. well, it'll be the only thing installed requiring glib, now.

Is there nothing out there that can work without cross-contamination?

If it's the only way forward that's what I'll do, but it'll feel like I'm using a drill press to crack a walnut if it's for the sake of one program.

QtCore is hefty enough at 2.9MB, but provides me far more benefit than glib.

I'm really surprised so many people use it though, I'd think if you need what glib does for C, you'd just use C++ and STL.

Hello, pretty quiet in here, so I will start lol.
#archlinux   #openbox   #razorqt

Just installed today so I will be fiddling with it more, but so far I am very happy with razor-qt!

About this community

Razor-qt is an advanced, easy-to-use, and fast desktop environment based on Qt technologies. It has been tailored for users who value simplicity, speed, and an intuitive interface. Unlike most desktop environments, Razor-qt also works fine with weak machines. http://razor-qt.org/ [I'm not a developer of Razor, only a enthusiast]

I use it in Razor Qt (like alternative to Opera, Chromium and Firefox) ;-)

I am brand new to razor-qt. I installed it on top of my Siduction Linux (Debian Sid) LXDE system. I cannot figure out some stuff. My pressing need is to get an nm-applet widget into the panel. nm-applet is running, but I cannot find an interface to it.

So, I searched a lot and finally found a blog post that told me how to do it. Just right-click on the panel, then "Add Plugins". Simple to do, but if you don't know about it...

Hi folks!
I'm working in a spin of PCLOS Razor QT. So far, it's going pretty well.
Just the file manager, I could not find one (QT based) as good as PCmanFM.
Could you suggest me one ? Or, should I stick to PCManFM ???

Can anyone help me with this question ?

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Btw, does qtFM provide a trash can feature ? I would put a trash icon on the desktop and qtFM doesn't know what to do with it.

with this screenshot, i have some questions to ask, like why the Razor-qt icon disappeared from the "Application menu", how can i change the Metacity or Openbox theme, how can i change workspaces by mouse wheel, how can i have more or less than 4 workspaces, how can i change the typeface of the window titles, how can i have some kind of context menu when right-clicking the mouse on the desktop (just like happens on Fluxbox, Openbox, WindowMaker, JWM, PekWM, etc.), etc.
