30 WordPress plugins that can help with your blogging
This post isn’t about telling you to go and install plugins such as WordPress SEO by Yoast, Jetpack, or Contact Form 7. You probably already know about their existence, and very likely have them on your site already. For most bloggers, they are … what’s the word … obvious. And don’t get me wrong, as great …

Dave Briggs asks if it's possible to earn his livelihood from his blog. Thoughts?
Bit navel-gazey this post, but bear with me, and I would love your feedback. So, as mentioned previously, I am looking for a job. The main reason for this is that I want to be able to focus on one thing, and not have the freelancer’s dilemma of always looking for the next thing while …

Want to add a little more visual appeal to your blog, but aren't sure how to? Here are three ways to combine text and images
In recent years, panoramic background images have become all the rage in web design. The Web is full of impressive examples that well illustrate the technique: eye-catching landing pages, lavish portfolio sites, and increasingly, even big corporations use majestic full-screen background photos to project a sense of grandeur and awe. A picture is worth a thousand...? Even though studies have shown that information conveyed through image...

That's awesome to hear about your book review blog. :)

For the 2nd one, I suggest to wait about 3-6 months before you create a media kit. Different niche, content and audience. Since lifestyle is still broad, you'll eventually attract the right media for this blog once you've managed to write specific topics catered to their needs.

But, having said that, I've seen blogs that have exploded rather quickly gaining more readers - then a media kit makes sense. Just make sure what you offer makes sense based on the numbers. :)

Good luck and great stuff!
