“Before us stands the might of the darkspawn horde. Gaze upon them now, but fear them not. Today we save Denerim. Today we avenge the death of my brother, King Cailan. But most of all, today we show the Grey Wardens that we remember and honour their sacrifice. For Ferelden; for the Grey Wardens!”

[Personality]

"You know, one good thing about the Blight is how it brings people together."

Usual Mood/Expression: While as battle hardened as any of his companions, Alistair doesn't wear the gruffness and discipline that most warriors of his experience do on the outside. Instead, he keeps the darker parts of his personality close to the breast and prefers to interact with others in a lighthearted and often flippant manner that endears him to some and can irritate others. This attitude can often help to bolster the spirits of those around him, especially in tough times, and he takes a great deal of enjoyment out of being able to keep people's spirits high.

Despite his position as "senior" Warden after the deaths of all of the other Ferelden Wardens, Alistair is highly inexperienced in facing threats like this on his own and worries constantly about his ability to live up to his responsibilities. Blessed (or perhaps cursed) with an intense sense of duty and honor, Alistair has always put most others before himself and attended more to their needs than he did to his own. It has only been since his unpleasant encounter with Goldanna, an incident that didn't go even half as happily as he hoped it would, that Alistair has turned more of his attentions towards taking care of himself, and even then, he's more likely to be the sacrificer than the sacrificee.

The years that he has spent as King of Ferelden have given him a position to learn and the opportunity to grow in his own understanding of both himself and his country. He is far more firm in his convictions and his devotion and loyalty to his country and all his people (even those that the noble families are appalled by him having concerns for such as elven slaves and mages) know absolutely no bounds. As such, Alistair has made several decisions through the strife of the last few years that have proven to be unpopular, such as quelling the Mage-Chantry conflict as best he could by coming down on the side of the mages despite having been both trained as a Templar and raised by the Chantry, and resulted in much negative sentiment towards his rule, comments that he takes as evidence that he is failing as a king. It is a burden that he has felt since being crowned, one that he never asked for, but even as he wishes that he could pass it off onto someone more suited, he knows that as a Theirin, it is the position for which he is meant to be in.

Top Five Tropes:
The Creon.
Deadpan Snarker.
Heroic Bastard.
Spare to the Throne.
Meaningful Name.‎

[Misc]

Skills:
A skilled warrior, former templar in training, and Grey Warden, Alistair has tested his blade against many foes both human and darkspawn alike.
His abilities as a templar afford him a great deal advantage against magic wielding entities, mages included.
With years also spent ruling as King of Ferelden, Alistair has been able to express his love and unity for all of Ferelden's people and act as a unifying force for Ferelden as well.
Alistair has learned rather quickly how to defuse the tension in a room, even if it means making a fool out of himself to do so.

Equipment:
He carries Duncan’s shield, a heavy, silverite shield emblazoned with the blue and white gryphon of the Grey Wardens.
He also bears Maric’s Blade, the silverite longsword that belonged to his father. The blade is etched with lyrium runes that shimmer when it is drawn.
These items give him some sense of connection to the father that he never knew and the mentor whose loss he still feels keenly.
The armor he wears most often these days was a gift from King Bhelen: a full set of steel plate. An embossed dragon’s head adorns the breastplate, and each piece is ornately engraved and etched with lyrium.

Hobbies:
Reading and writing.
Practicing swordsmanship.

[General Biography / Family Information]

"Forgive us, my king. When we have driven the darkspawn from their holes and bought ourselves some time, we shall return to see you to the Maker."

Alistair was raised by Arl Eamon Guerrin of Redcliffe, but Arlessa Isolde, suspected the reason her husband took an interest in the welfare of a servant’s child was that Alistair was Eamon’s son. Though her suspicions were unfounded, Eamon acquiesced when she demand that Alistair be sent away to the Chantry, and so the boy was raised in a monastery from the age of ten. Alistair was trained to become a templar for many years by the Chantry, this being how he learned most of his martial skills. He was found to be ill-suited to a life of religious devotion, however. Duncan, Commander of the Grey in Ferelden recruited Alistair into the Wardens.

Alistair was infuriated that Loghain had been permitted to join the Wardens, though he did not go so far as to leave their ranks. He nevertheless fulfilled his birthright and accepted the crown, his Theirin blood giving him the strongest claim. To further cement his claim as a fair and just ruler Alistair married Anora Mac Tir, the Queen of Ferelden, after her father, Loghain, betrayed and left her husband, Alistair’s half-brother, Cailan Theirin to die. After the Battle of Denerim, he had Loghain sent to join the ranks of the Wardens in Orlais and accepted a new Orlesian Warden to come and act as Warden-Commander of Ferelden. As a sign of respect to the Hero of Ferelden, he did all in his power to help the people of Ferelden. He now works directly to try and repair the damage the Fifth Blight did to the nation as a leader of action rather than just words.

“Bad things should happen to bad people. We find someone not so bad, maybe he'll end up not so dead.”

Name: Sera
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Race: Elf
Class: Rogue (Tempest)
Weapons: Firm Hunting Longbow
Bio: Sera is impulsive and reactionary, taking delight in humbling the established authority she views as arrogant and selfish. For her, it's not about what's right, it's about what's right now. She sees actions taken for the 'greater good' as just an excuse to hurt others who don't deserve it simply because it's easier. She was a member of the enigmatic group of rogues known as the Friends of Red Jenny, yet the coming of the Breach terrified her. Fortunately, Sera and her "friends" can be frightening, too, and if she needs to put an arrow through some baddies so regular people can sleep at night, so be it. Sera fights for those caught in the middle, but she also needs order restored. The world has to be normal so she can play.

Sera was orphaned as a child in Denerim and was caught stealing at a young age. She remembers being from the Elven Alienage in Denerim as an infant, though Sera denies this and rejects the "arsehole" residents of the alienage as well as its "stupid" Vhenadahl, that so-called "real" elves always have and pray to. Lady Taraline Emmald, a sick and barren woman, took her in and became Sera's patron. When she died of sickness, well before the Blight, Sera inherited her estate, but rejected it and the fortune that came with it. Being raised by humans, as well as the psychological abuse faced during her time as Lady Emmald's ward, cemented a distinctly non-elven point of view and a disregard for elven culture in general. Sera's skills as a rogue and archer are self-taught, not trained by others.

"We saved Ferelden, and they're angry! We saved Orlais, and they're angry! We closed the Breach twice, and my own hand wants to kill me. Could one thing in this FUCKING world just stay fixed!?"

Name: Alexander Trevelyan
Age: 40
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Homeland: Free Marches
Class: Warrior (Champion)
Weapons: Sword of Charris Allied & Templar Commander Shield
Bio: Alexander is a member of the noble Trevelyan family. The Trevelyans are nobility from Ostwick, a city-state on the southern coast of the Free Marches. It is an old and distinguished family, in good standing among its peers, and with strong ties to the Chantry. Its youngest sons and daughters—those third- or fourth-born children with little chance of becoming heirs—often join the Chantry to become templars or clerics. As the youngest child, Lord Alexander Trevelyan was expected to follow suit... until the disaster at the Conclave. Alexander was present at the Temple of Sacred Ashes as a representative of his family's interests, along with other distant relatives in the Chantry. He was the only survivor at the temple after the explosion. Rumors that the mysterious mark on his hand is a sign of the Maker's favor were spread by those who claim they saw the divine prophet, Andraste herself, lead Lord Alexander out of the Fade. The mysterious mark on his hand allows Alexander to close the rifts across Thedas from which demons pour out of.

Name: Cremisius Aclassi
Nickname: Krem
Age: Unknown
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Class: Warrior (Two-handed)
Weapon: Hammer
Bio: Krem was born to a Tevinter tailor. Although raised as a girl, Krem realized he was different from the girls that he knew, and would often pretend to shave with his father. After reaching adulthood, Krem's mother began to pressure him to marry the son of a wealthy merchant to save the family from slavery. Krem refused, and his relationship with his mother was destroyed.

Some time later, a Tevinter magister, in an attempt to save the poor from the cold, had his slaves make clothes and sell them for almost nothing. Although the magister likely saved many people from freezing, Krem's father was put out of business and was forced to sell himself into slavery to save his family.

After his father's sacrifice, Krem joined the army, but since women's roles in the Tevinter military are heavily restricted, Krem concealed his transgender status by bribing the healer who performed military physicals. His charade went on for several years, but when the healer was called away on duty, the new healer discovered Krem's secret and reported him to the authorities. Faced with the threat of slavery or execution (being transgender isn't a crime in Tevinter, but falsifying military documents is), Krem ran, but was caught in a border town's tavern by a Tevinter tribune and his men. As the tribune and his men attacked Krem for deserting (to "make an example" out of him), the Iron Bull came to Krem's defense, losing his eye when he came in between Krem and a Tevinter's flail. Afterward, the Iron Bull healed Krem's injuries and asked if he wanted a job.
