Also....one of the challenges the guys put forward for 2013 is how to measure the success/impact of dataviz and information graphics. I think this is a no-brainer for us measurement folks as it should always tie back to the visualization's objective. BUT I would like to throw this out there to spur a discussion.

Nice article on infographics.  I still have one foot in the "let the numbers speak for themselves" camp, but I'm drawn to really well-thought out infographics. 

At TrendTopics we cycle through millions of new records on brands and trends every month, so crafting a few select infographics is not practical.  We've opted for a tool (Tableau) that enables us to quickly build interactive data mining dashboards that leverage massive data repositories.  
I've found infographics more appropriate for news organizations where space and attention are limited and you need to get 1 or 2 points across in a limited amount of space.

No. I'm sorry.  We should be expecting a lot more than this, http://www.convinceandconvert.com/social-media-case-studies/how-we-generated-a-1500-percent-roi-on-facebook/ in 2013.

There were clear measurable goals to this campaign, but instead they're obfuscated and lost behind meaningless ad value equivalencies and misuse of 'Return on Investment'.

I think 2013 is the year where we need to not accept these shenanigans and pass along as, 'ok it may be flawed but we can still learn from'.
