Google Analytics is an amazing tool, but it isn't the only thing you'll need.
If you want your online business and campaigns to succeed, Google Analytics will not meet all of your measurement needs. That may seem like crazy thinking because GA has a huge array of capabilities. However, there are many areas where we have better tools for understanding visitor behavior such as interaction, user sentiment and impact […]

Hey guys...
This is a long shot but I'm currently searching for a regular Co-Host for my Web Analytics show the Quantified Web Podcast. Anyone feeling up to the task to discuss with me some cool topics surrounding Analytics (Data and the Web) on a weekly basis? Wirte me a message.

Cheers,

Julian

We kept saying "it's coming", the Display Feature is now fully supported in Universal Analytics as well as Google Tag Manager.

Now that Universal Analytics is out of beta and fully launched, we've launched Display Features for Universal Analytics in Tag Manager. (See screenshot.) A couple of notes:

- If using Display features, for best results, make sure the checkbox is enabled across all of your Universal Analytics tags.

- Check out the links in the UI to understand more about the enabled features and the impact on your privacy policy.

I enabled this is TM and published the config, than I goto GA and validate the tracking code, I still get this message:

Your Analytics tracking code does not include the necessary support for the Demographics and Interest reports. Learn more about the simple, one-line, one-time change to your tracking code to add this support.

With Universal Analytics out of Beta, I felt like it was time for a blog post. http://www.analytics-ninja.com/blog/2014/04/googles-universal-analytics-out-of-beta.html

tl;dr

Universal is great -> the GA product keeps getting better and better.
UserID is lacking when it comes to true user-centric analytics.
Upgrade when GTM supports DoubleClick (I'm sure it will be soon).
Universal Analytics is now out of beta. What are the implications for your business? Is it time to upgrade? Read more about the new version of Google Analytics in this post by Yehoshua Coren.

Tracking code and fillers are simple but costly mistakes when analytics are crucial to your website and business success. Finally, Analytics helps you keep an eye out.

Now you can share your goals (one at a time or in bulk)!

I noticed this just after midnight last night. This is a long awaited feature, and there were some audible gasps as I mentioned this in the office this morning.

Thanks to the GA team (+Eduardo Cereto Carvalho  - did you have a hand in this?)

Hey Jim, I had nothing to do with this. I haven't even heard about this before you mentioned it.

I'm as surprised and delighted as you are.

Even being part of the Analytics team is hard to stay on top of all the projects that we are working on at the same time. Very exciting product indeed.

A free course on R programming has just started on Coursera (https://www.coursera.org/course/rprog) . In the past I've found R to be a useful statistical tool for analysing exported GA data. Hopefully the course will expand my limited R abilities.

Has anyone else signed up to this course?

Thanks, +Pierre DeBois. I don't think I'd use R if it weren't for RStudio; it's great!

I'll check out Datacamp once the Coursera course has finished. Thanks for sharing!
