Every GA user has wanted to create quick funnel of historic data atleast once, whether you didnt build a funnel when you setup GA Or wanted to see a step thatyou forgot to add to goal funnel.

GA has a very cool way you can visualize funnels for any page for all the historic data you have collected updated in realtime but you have to dig a bit to find it, hopefully this helps.

Learn how user flow reports in google analytics can be used to create funnel for any page for all the historic data you have collected.

Confirmed that SOME accounts now valid hostnames used for the injected 'ghost' spam. There are lookups between domain and tracking code available publicly, so even dash 2 and higher numbers aren't immune. Usually the faked domains lack the 'www.' prefix, so a valid hostname can still be effective for some sites.

Secret key is a good approach, but complicated to explain to small business owners that can barely handle setting up GA in the first place. They are the prime targets for the spam anyways; those that don't know any better and would click on anything.

I recommend \. filter for language spam since all url links require a dot and language codes never have them. It is also lighter on the GA backend.

Since V.P. wants his name recognized, I am removing it from all my articles.

So we have been getting some irritating spam traffic in our Google Analytics that has the referrer as reddit.com. And you can't work on #SEO if your #website visitor data is off.

Now +Reddit is traffic gold if you can get some good quality content on there that people like so it is very irritating that it's being used in spam traffic.

So on looking around the solution we have found is to create a filter in your +Google Analytics account (Admin > Filters ) and add a new custom filter for:

\s[^s]*\s|.{15,}|\.|,

and then select Language settings.

This works.

+Screaming Frog SEO Spider is a popular tool and is used by many #measure analysts to check their sites. In version 7, there is now a rendering mode that will execute JavaScript, thus potentially firing all tags - this could impact your stats.

I can see a new browser in the Browser & OS report - Android Webview. It comes into play at the beginning of December for one day or so, then dies for about a week, then resumes again.

It doesn't seem to be spam, by the way.

GTM adds nothing extra to the mix. It still loads analytics.js from Google's servers and makes the calls to /collect. It's exactly the same as having the reticular JS snippet in the page.

Excellent stuff from +Zorin Radovancevic. When using Measurement Protocol outside the regular libraries (analytics.js, gtm.js), it's important to understand what parameters are utilized by Google Analytics to attribute the incoming hits to sessions and users (and sometimes Ecommerce transactions).

Client ID is the most obvious one, but Zorin nicely highlights other parameters that might be easily forgotten or ignored when building the HTTP requests.

Using #googleanalytics Measurement protocol? Here are some helpful tips on adjusting / preserving attribution
Why widening the Gogole Analytics Measurement protocol hit is essential and which parameters should be included when sending payloads to Google Analytics.
