We created a SaaS service to analyse the correlation between two GA metrics. For us this saves hours of work each week.

The calculation is done by analysing the linear regression of two metrics within any Google Analytics Accounts/Profiles/Segments. Yes, you can compare the data between any account you have rights to. See image for an example. The analysis is super useful, but we would like to receive more use cases from GA community. We are not selling this so during the test users will get the service for free as long as you kindly provide us some kind of feedback to improve the solution.

If you are interested in trying the tool please comment and I'll contact you directly. I'm not going to post a URL here, because I guess that would not be appropriate unless the moderator allows that.

You'll soon be getting alerts in Google Analytics if your site is hacked for spam. Head over to the Webmaster Blog to read more about what that means and what to do if your site is hacked.

Just published a case study detailing how I stumbled on an interesting user vulnerability using GTM/GA to track JavaScript errors.

This is such a great example of serendipity in analytics :) sometimes the findings just fall into your lap when ploughing through data!

How crazy bad malware it has to be expose JS errors in the console :D you'd imagine proper obfuscation would be taught on the first day of Malware Academy.

Listening to your customers is obviously a good thing, BUT the key to obtaining a good participation rate and accurate results, is the timing and mechanism of your survey. Unfortunately these are so often forgotten. The result is poor quality data masquerading as “feedback” that can also be damaging for your brand…!

In my latest post I discuss why surveys often end up being a silent brand killer that also produce skewed data, as well as how to increase survey participation without damaging your brand.... http://bit.ly/1UzaKOR

You should consider these important steps to reduce bounce rate while using google analytics.
Bounce rate at end of day is a quick shot indicator of traffic that comes to the site and the experience they have on the first page of your site. Three solid steps you may consider to reduce bounce rate for achieving more conversions.

I have been working on a deck of cards to help clients in particular understand the fundamental ideas inside GA. I wonder if anyone else is using a similar approach. The cards are launched on Kickstarter http://bit.ly/GAcards

New Post : #Tip – How to quickly debug/qa data attributes
With the years I learned that using CSS selectors to track user actions is really great but sadly I learned too that it's really dangerous too. It's true that we won't need to ask the IT team to add some dataLayer or ga pushes into the page, and therefore saving a lot of precious time, ...

Hello folks! Perhaps you'll find this guide interesting. If you've been stressing out about a good way to visualize your GA data and combine it with other data sources in a single dashboard, you might want to take a look at Klipfolio!

Using Klipfolio to build a Google Analytics content dashboard

Here's a guide on how to use the wonderful Klipfolio (http://www.klipfolio.com/) dashboarding tool to build a simple Google Analytics content dashboard.

For its price point, Klipfolio is one of the most versatile and powerful dashboarding / simple BI solutions out there. The amount of connectors it boasts is impressive, and I've yet to find a query / data question I couldn't visualize with the formulae available in the tool.

I have very little against Google Analytics‘ default dashboards. The reason I shy away from them is because they lack the type of customization I’ve come to expect from a dashboarding tool. On top of that, they only let you look at GA data, and I learned early on in my career that focusing on …

Just a quick sanity check... Was same session referral attribution for ga.js been updated yesterday?

Historically... ga.js uses first referral session wins in same-session attribution, but I am wondering if this changed yesterday as I have a sudden spike in payment portal referrals :(

I have already exuded the payment portal in GA universal, so I dont have a comparative.

I am not seeing anything announced here:
https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/gajs/changelog#changelog

But ga.js was last-modified recently on Wed, 01 Jun 2016 14:34:39 GMT
https://www.google-analytics.com/ga.js
https://ssl.google-analytics.com/ga.js

Is anyone else seeing a spike in same-session referrals on GA classic? (i.e referrals with >5% new sessions)

Thanks

Phil.

As a side note, it would be nice if GoogleSearchApp referral from "com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox" was moved into medium=organic aswell.
