APOSTLES AND PROPHETS is a community subject that covers all Bible, Prophets the Old Testament and Apostles the New Testament. SunGrist has found a new way to cover Apostles and Prophets simultaneously by the combined study of OT quotes in the NT arranged in the most probable order of the revelations from God through the Spirit. Thus the "thru the Bible" in an orderly fashion will be the subject matter of Apostles and Prophets on:

We will spend a lot more time on the "World to Come" of the New Earth than in heaven.

If life on this earth is a boot camp for heaven, and it is, then heaven in turn is orientation for the new earth, and it is. We get a big boost in perfection, at least of the soul, as we see Jesus and "become like Him, for we shall see Him as He is". Then on the new earth the perfection process is completed, that is part of the doctrine of Christ in Hebrews, as we are clearly instructed that those left on earth will be perfected with those Christ brings with Him from heaven. They in heaven, so to speak, are not going to get ahead of us on holiness and righteousness, for both at the new earth of the Second Coming, we all shall be perfected together. {Amen!}
As one author wrote:
"'Pure River of Water of life.' In one final glimpse into the future, John sees this river flowing from the throne of God. It is the source of eternal life that emanates from God. Even in heaven, we will drink water and eat food, probably not out of necessity for our health, but because of the pleasure and fellowship it will give us. This is symbolic of eternal life."
Now, a little spiritual imagination and reality awareness of new earth and new Jerusalem realities. Try to see us sitting in the soft grass next to the River of Life, nibbling on the fruit and leaves of the tree of life, and listening to the New Jerusalem concert with the greater than Gaither like music and the greater than Boston Pops bands, much like many of us remember as walking through the cherry blossoms to the Lincoln Memorial, and sitting on the grace in the cool of the evening as the planes fly overhead and as a large band plays from a barge on the river. The former describes some of the best of life, the latter on the river and grass in New Jerusalem describes some of the best in the new life of the New Jerusalem.
It will the beauty of the Garden of Eden, only more so-
“Out of the ground the LORD God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden” (2:9).
Genesis 2:1–16; 3:22–24

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever” (Revelation 22:1–5).

Psalm 46
God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah
There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God,
The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved;
God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.
The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved;
He uttered His voice, the earth melted.
The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah
Come, behold the works of the Lord,
Who has made desolations in the earth.
He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
He burns the chariot in the fire.
Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!
The Lord of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah

Psalm 46 Comment: "Let us sing Psalm 46", Martin Luther would say during times of trouble.

"God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble."

Greatest story ever told.    {Listen while you read!}

Read, Listen, and see illustrations at

Greatest story because it is the only greatest God, the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Creator of humanity and the Universe.
After the Father and Jesus made the sacrifice by lowering themselves to come to earth; after Jesus lived on earth and performed many marvelous works and died of the cross for our sins; after Jesus Christ ascended back to heaven to take up His place at the right hand of God, then and now “ever living to make intercession for our sins” and preparing to come get us again in great power and glory. That alone is a great story that gets even greater as we consider that the only way to get to God the Father, His power and wisdom and presence, and eternal being, is through the Lord Jesus Christ.
John 14:1-7
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
Do you not want and need this peace Jesus is talking about that keeps your heart from being troubled all the time; it only comes by believe in the Father and the Son; are you not interested in eternity in the Father’s eternal home on the new earth; can you not imagine the place that Jesus prepares in eternity for every believer, and want to go there at death or when Christ comes again; Jesus according to these teachings of John 14:1-7, is not talking figuratively or foolishly when He tells that the prepared place is just not for imagination, but it is prepared for you to be your eternal home. Jesus said He is coming again, in order that you might be received to be with Him and the Father eternally?
Jesus said, “You know where He went after Ascension back to the Father.”
Jesus said, “You know the way to the Father and eternity.”
Good ole doubting Thomas, with whom we can easily identify, said, “Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
This question by Thomas was designed for all humanity that desire to know where the place is that Jesus went back to the Father, and to know the way that we can get there after death or the Second Coming. The answer of Jesus is the greatest story every told!
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
1. Jesus is the Way.
You see often on TV large church services like that of Adrian Roger’s, and you are aware of the way of comfort and feel good the assemblers are experiencing. THAT IS NOT THE WAY! Jesus best summarized the WAY with the message “to take up the cross and follow Him.” Do you when you watch them on TV, recall the similar comfort and feel goodness, God’s people were experiencing in the Temple at Jerusalem before God brought their destruction. Like today and like a gang of thieves that robbed and then hide in the den of thieves, church members today are coming to church to feel good and then live without a cross of Christ all week. THAT IS NOT THE WAY, and Jesus called while quoting from Jeremiah 7:11, that all such flippant and self-serving assemblers are like a “den of thieves”.
2. Jesus is the Truth.
The gist of the Temple message that Jeremiah delivered daily without heed, but with the scoffing of lack of respect, the daily message from God recorded word for word completely in Jeremiah 7, a message that is summarized by “truth is dead.”
Jeremiah 7:28
“But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.”
Each generation in America, unbelievers and lukewarm believers, create a reality or truth in their own mind and heart that will make them feel good and make others dear to them feel good about a good impression of rightness. That is the way truth is dying.
3. Jesus is Life like God the Father.
God made life and with Him is life. At Creation read carefully Genesis 1 and you will notice that the Trinity was at work, God the Father originated the universe, God the Son mediated Creation, and God the Holy Spirit effected creation by “brooding on the face of the deep.” However almost two thousand years ago, the Father ordained that men for real and eternal life must come through Jesus.
“Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me.”
4. Jesus said, “I am the life” and the only way to real and eternal life with God.
Life, real life and eternal life, is only through Jesus. Jesus was not trying to fake us out or build Himself up when He said, “no man comes to the Father but by me.”

Newer profile for Scottish Corner Research and Photos to a fighting Highlander; however it would seem that they more accurately made contributions as farmers and Presbyterians, also contributing to the Scot and Scot-Irish pioneer spirit that made such a contribution to America. Often settlers would strive to use them as "arrow catchers" outside their own settlements. However, in search of land for a living, they were up to the task. The big rural Ulster scene reminds us of perhaps the main thrust for pioneering with a farm scene, courtesy of Scot in Ulster. Of course even in Ulster they felt pressures against freedom of worship from the Anglicans and Irish Catholics. View all posts by sungrist3in1
