Winamp -This community is a tribute to the software I most used in my life after the OS itself. It is hard to believe it is actually coming to an end since I have never found a better player than Winamp in all these years.
I discovered my musical taste listening to songs on Winamp. Happy moments, sad moments, nostalgia, passion, anger, a myriad of feelings that we associate to music, and so to Winamp.
Every single computer I ever owned had a Winamp installed. After arriving from school, from work, from anywhere, anytime, as soon as I would arrive at home, the first thing to do was to turn on the computer to start Winamp and listen to great music.
Winamp was always there, always on top, by the left corner of the screen, with its simple and unparalleled minimalistic design, occupying almost no space.
It's a pity AOL is killing Winamp. I know I will still be using it for a long time yet, after all there is nothing else that could be used today that would fit so nicely on my desktop and that would help me so much to keep my songs organized. Winamp will keep whipping the llama's ass on my desktops, but it's going to be really sad when the moment to finally leave it comes.
