What's the recommended partitions to create for a new ARCH Install on a UEFI LAPTOP ?

I have an issue with Steam with HiDPI monitor.
If I run in terminal : GDK_SCALE=2 steam-native it worked normally.
Then I tried to edit steam-native.desktop file with GDK_SCALE=2 environment and it did not work.

Thanks for help.

Is anyone having an issue where gtk apps keep crashing? This is happening with both chromium and Firefox.

#Support #ArchLinux #Network

I recently had a power outage and now my network is wonky.

The network will not start automatically, but I am able to get it up and running, locally anyways, by doing this:
> ip address add 192.168.42.12/24 broadcast + dev enp3s0
> ip link set enp3s0 up

And I thought that was it as everything locally worked. But I just found out I have no outside network access.

> ping www.google.com
connect: Cannot assign requested address

> tracepath 8.8.8.8
1: send failed
Resume: pmtu 65535

I'm not sure what else to do here or how to fix this.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi. I did an update yesterday and now mythtv backend won't start. I'm not even sure where to start. My log path is var/log/mythtv but that directory is empty.
I have plenty of drive space available.
I had not done an update in a few months until yesterday.

Any idea where to start on figuring out what is wrong?

Hello Archers :)
I want to be very professional in Arch.
Is there any course take me step by step to full understand Arch linux?
or any good book.
I can't organize my self at archlinux.org
Thank you all

hello, I've been away from my notebook for a long time, today to noticed that the pantheon repo is returning error while pamac does the system updates, so I run pacman -Syu and it returned " error: could not get file «pantheon.db» desde pkgbuild.com: The requested URL returned error: 404 ".

I don't know if I broke something or it was moved, http://pkgbuild.com is online, but I got lost.

/etc/pacman.conf:

[pantheon]
SigLevel = Optional
Server = http : / / pkgbuild . com/~alucryd/$repo/$arch # no spaces

Been having an odd problem with Arch based distributions for years. The problem being my shutdown keeps getting interrupted and a 1min 30sec countdown starts before it interrupts whatever task is causing the problem. The part that pisses me off is that I can simply log in, log back out, and try to reboot and the problem occurs. I've tried killing all my personal tasks and logging out, the shutdown still gets interrupted and I have to wait 1 MIN AND 30 SECONDS BEFORE THE SHUTDOWN WILL EVEN CONTINUE. And again, this problem ONLY happens to me on Arch based distributions. So what's the deal?

Haven't posted on here in a long while but thought someone might know why this is happening. Not sure when it started happening since I usually keep my computer in suspend. Any time after a reboot that "Started bpfilter" pops into the login field. Easy to work around but a lil annoying. I can't find anything about this. Thoughts?
