BackRub? #Google Agreed is much better, you cant imagine saying "just BackRub it" can you?
It is probably one of the hardest things to come up with, and not just the company name but the product name. Often we refer to what it is or what it does rather than thinking outside of the box. I myself have looked through Greek and Roman gods for a worthy name for something but it never quite fits, and often when I look at other company names, it seem they had two hats, one with an animal and the other with a colour or a fruit such as "Purple Frog" or indeed "Black Berry. I think the naming of something can be important but people put far to much impetus into it. The smaller one man bands out there and the builders for example just tend to use CJ Plumbing because of their initials. Others can go down the humours route as I learned last week with the flower shop "Back to the Fuchsia", it must be good because I remembered it! The basics of a good name is to make sure it is easy to type in, spell, it makes sense and that it's memorable. Ensure its a good URL not like the unfortunate Pen Island (you can look it up for yourself).  All in all Google was a bizarre name and I thought it was a joke when I first heard it, as #AltaVista was one of the top search engines at the time. Is there a bigger household name or phrase "Google It"

Business owners. I have lots of people tell me that once they can get people on the phone, or talk with them in person, they make the sale. They just want the Web site to get them to call.

So my question to business owners is....The things you say to these people on the phone to get them to buy your product or service, are these things on your Website?

The growth of consumerism and the applicability of credit cards do go hand in hand. As with any social change, a certain learning curve has applied with the acceptance and use of this form of payment. This can be on the part of both the purchaser and the business, and education and experience on either side has helped to keep markets and economies alive.

Do you think #Facebook  is still a relevant channel for your #smallbiz   #marketing  efforts? Or is it now more a platform for #branding  purposes?

In a recent blog post of mine I take a look at a few factors to consider, but I'd love to get some real perspective from #smallbusinessowners  on whether or not they think #Facebook  is worth utilizing. What do you think?
With constant changes to Facebook's news feed algorithm some small businesses are asking the question 'Is Facebook still relevant?' Let's look at why.
