Etcher is an iso transfer tool to make usb-bootable Linux installers safe and easy to use. Etcher prevents choosing any internal system disk while keeping the number of steps down just to 3, so there's no extra/confusing parameters to set, just simply ..

1) Choose an iso file
2) Choose the target device (USB or SDCard devices will only show up), and 3
3) Finally just flash

The tool is so easy to use that a user does not need any instructions for it.

Etcher makes usb-bootable Linux installers from iso files very safe to do. In fact more safe than many other tools that have been out there for ages. Etcher came out around January 2017, is still relatively new but has been through many development revisions over the past year making it stable and safe to use.

Most users coming across it, would be Windows users, needing something easy to use to make a Linux usb-installer, and I highly recommend it.

If you need help, or want to express gratitude or give feedback on this software, be sure to check out its github project page below.

Enjoy and have a nice day.

cheers!

I tried out an open source application called #yEd (similar to MS Visio, but better graphics than what DIA offers).  Here is a quick gram of my current home setup.

#GTKorphan

Does anyone know exactly what this means from GTKorphan's website?

"At GtkOrphan's first run, you should initialize your system in order to keep track of needed packages, even if they are reported as orphaned."

My question is, how do you know what packages you need to keep if they show up as orphaned ones? Can anyone make since of this?
