Hallo! I didn't grow up in Germany buy I have visited family who still live there.
My material Great Grandparents moved to Texas with my grandfather and his siblings from Selsia after WWII. They became very active in the Houston German Singing societies (Houston Liederkranz & Houston Saengerbund) and the tradition has continued to include the four living generations (my 4 year old sometimes sings with us too).
I am formally learning to speak German at the local Sammstagschule so that I can better support the goals of both clubs.

Popped to Germany while in Belgium last week so my daughter could visit the country I spent my childhood in.  Surprised to see the old title for Germany!  Went to Monshau and ate gingerbread and relived a tiny bit of my childhood!

Hi everyone or should I say "Hallo" an allen. My name is Mark Lesselroth and I am the founder of Brenner Business Development, an international business development consultancy that focuses on promoting bi-lateral trade between German speaking countries (Germany, Switzerland and Austria) and the USA. Not unlike a lot of you, I too was born in Germany to a German mother and American Father. Yes, I am an Army Brat. :)  That said I have been back to Germany many times, first as a high school student (Villingen-Schweningen), then during my Junior year abroad (Wuerzburg) and then as a graduate student (Bamberg). Today I live in Syracuse, NY and try to leverage my connections, language and understanding of the German and American culture to help connect people and business.
