The idea that it’s unloving to defend truth or confront lies is one of the arrogant opinions of this postmodern age that needs to be torn down (2 Cor. 10:5). Authentic love “rejoices with the truth” (1 Cor. 13:6). —Phil Johnson

Never try to arouse faith from within. You cannot stir up faith from the depths of your heart. Leave your heart, and look into the face of Christ. ~Andrew Murray

I am conscious that after I am gone, evil wolves will come in among you, doing damage to the flock; And from among yourselves will come men who will give wrong teaching, turning away the disciples after them.
(Acts 20:29-30)

Could anyone identify these men? the prosperity gospel would be an example

Joseph avoided adultery but King David fell into it. What was the difference? One thing to consider is that David was committing the sin of omission (2 Sam. 11:1), he should have been at war but he remained at home. Yet Joseph was busy doing his masters work (Gen. 39:11). As 2 Tim. 2:22 says, flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness. -- Do not wake up and think "I better not lust today," but rather wake up and think "I better see and be satisfied in knowing Jesus Christ." And go and pursue righteousness and than when temptation comes it will be easily to flee and take the way of escape (1 Cor 10:13).

"tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine" - Eph 4:14 - In this case, it is every wind of social networking. May we redeem some of it.
