Its official, feral interactive is AWESOME. Tomb Raider runs and is playable on my Fedora 23, using an intel HD 4000 video card, mesa 11.3 (from git) and a 1.5 ghz i3 processor.

Saint's Row the Third and IV won't even launch because of the OpenGL requirements.

Played about 8 hours now. I experienced 2 freezes that have memleak written all over them but otherwhise it plays fantastic. Some odd vertex glitch here and there but nothing special. Settings all way up on my Nvidia Titan X. Performance is great beside some really huge spaces with a lot of weather effects going on. I guess some tweaks could be done but that's nothing compared to the first release performance trouble with e.g. X-COM2.

Love the game so far. I can even deal with the jump puzzles in 3D space. Something I'm usually really not very found of :D

Questions & Help  -

Hello All,

my 10-year old daughter mainly uses Fedora, but for
gaming she turns to Windows and plays Star Stables and related.
Result: endless waiting and frustration.

I had a look at Steam and I guess there must be al lot more games
out there than I can find...

So my question is: is there a game like Star Stables for my horse-loving little girl, that she can play on her Fedora laptop?

Many thanks.

Johan

It's a nice feeling when you don't find your game on winehq but try it and it worked perfectly out of the box, only better feeling is when it's native.

This would be good for #SteamOS
Pretty awesome news, Lionsgate and Steam are teaming up to offer over 100 of their titles like Hunger Games, Twilight and more.

I wish they'd focus on making the gaming side better instead of this.

We're finally getting to a point where AAA gaming companies specify the opensource radeon driver as a game requirement, not the proprietary one (catalyst). That's speaking highly of the advancements the radeon driver has done lately. We're also just a single step away from reaching OpenGL 4.3 support, which should bring us parity with DirectX 11.

Isn't that freaking awesome?? I think it is.

+Jonathan Berntsen Well, the opensource radeon driver is also developed by people from AMD... but yes, it feels that the proprietary driver was not a priority in last years so that they could focus on the opensource one. Which is actually... a great move, considering their limited resources.

Freaking micro$oft... -_- I knew they were going to ruin Minecraft. They're essentially trying to discontinue the original game, and make everyone play the mobile/windows 10 crap. Ugh.

Minecraft has long been about bringing people together, but since variants of the game released on such a wide array of platforms, most crafters have found themselves stranded in their own particular console bubble, perhaps isolated from some of their crafty friends. Minecraft: Realms is looking to solve this problem. Once it officially launches (which, we don’t even have a prospective date on that yet) then you’ll be able to build and explore al...

Really like this, nicely written and thought out. An interesting way to try to figure out how many of us there are on Steam #Linux
A user editorial talking about how Linux use on Steam has evolved over time. An interesting take on it using the concurrent user count.

Great & funny news + review :)

Master of Orion comes to Linux! Distance releases another jam-packed update, ZOTAC quietly releases a GeForce GT 710, and YouTube pretends to care about creators. Then Tomb Raider (2013) faces the CHAIRQUISITION! All this, plus your hate mail!

Shock Tactics looks like it mixes Civilization with XCOM, can't wait to play it on #Linux http://buff.ly/1T0rJbZ #SteamOS
Well now, Shock Tactics was emailed in by a reader and it has to be one of the most interesting games I've seen recently. It seems to blend aspects of Civilization with XCOM!

This looks way better than A2P, which was a huge disappointment to me. I love X-COM and I love CIV (even BE :). Thanks for the heads up.

Questions & Help  -

Hey guys and gals. Recently I purchased a humble bundle which has a few good linux games, including Victor Vran. It has a 90% rating on steam, so it must be quite good.

The thing is, it's not my type of game. So I want to give my key to somebody who would enjoy this ARPG. I also prefer to give it to somebody who wouldn't be able to purchase it otherwise. My only request is to play it on Linux (at least for the first week), so it counts as a Linux sale.

Any suggestions how to do that?
