I posted a video and I've noticed AFTER uploading that I'm experiencing screen tearing with obs studio on Ubuntu 16.04(my dumb fault). I'm running a gtx 1070 strix with the nvidia 367 drivers. Can anyone give me suggestions? I realize that I don't know enough about optimizing my gaming performance so anything you can inform me on would be beneficial. Thank you in advance!

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is released. If you're into games like Commandos or Desperados or Robin Hood this is probably for you.

It's also available DRM free on e.g. GOG again and supports Linux as day 1 release. It also features a demo. Pretty unusual nowadays. Great for giving it a try and check whether the game runs on your machine.

The devs (Mimimi Productions) are asking to spread the word[1]. Looks like they spent two years on this and really need that release to sell big time.

Shadow Tactics is a hardcore tactical stealth game set in Japan around the Edo period. A new Shogun seizes power over Japan and enforces nationwide peace. In his battle against conspiracy and rebellion, he recruits five specialists with extraordinary skills for assassination, sabotage and espionage.

Do you use a custom engine ? I use Unity and I've released few game on this platform. AMD is fine with some GPU, the Mesa driver is almost as good as the proprietary driver, in some cases.

The hand-painted puzzle adventure game by Teku Studios was crowdfunded on Kickstarter three years ago, and was recently released for Linux and other PC platforms on GOG and Steam.

Valve replied to clear the mess up and they removed the SteamOS icon for it.
After purchasing 'Motorsport Manager' at release, I was a bit confused as to why it had a SteamOS icon when it downloaded nothing. Sadly, it seems this is false advertising as the developers planned to release it for Linux later. Updated: After I contacted Valve, the SteamOS icon was removed.

The nVidia drivers give better performance for the majority of games (due to both, games being developed using nVidia hardware, and better optimized drivers).
Still, the AMD open source drivers are becoming better every day, and meanwhile outperform the old AMD proprietary drivers in many places. Also, the open source AMD drivers are of relatively high quality (much, much better than the old proprietary AMD drivers).

As an open-source fan, I'd definitely go for AMD, but from a performance point of view nVidia seems to be the better option.

I also don't know about AMD GPU-Pro, as those drivers are specifically targeted at workstation environments, so I never bothered using them.

The developers of Helium Rain sent word that their realistic space simulation game will fully support Linux at launch. The main developer is also using Linux to make the game.

I realized that right after I uploaded it. I plan on uploading a new one in better quality, with tripod support.

If you are familiar with Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, you know it is a great game series. The author/publisher is looking for response in porting the game to other platforms, such as Linux... I would appreciate it if everyone could take a minute to fill out the quick survey (it's only 2 questions) to try to promote this for Linux, and Linux gaming in general. Thanks!!!
