Hello guys,

New event coming up https://goo.gl/4E1GJx.
New format, let's learn together! This time, Android Things.

You know what to do :)
Hello everyone, We'll start off 2017 with something a little bit different: let's learn together. You may have heard of Android Things, this is what Brillo became after 2 years of silence ... Well, we don't know how it works but we want to learn, so we wanted to get together with whoever else is interested and see what we can learn from this new platform. Here is how it's going to work: we'll bring a few Android Things compatible devices along wi...

I stumbled upon this very interesting article...

Nice, small article about Data Binding by +George Mount, one of the engineers behind, er, Data Binding.

We'd heard people talking about using Butter Knife specifically because they found the findViewById() method tedious. George and +yiğit boyar pointed out that it's really easy to use Data Binding for the same purpose. So here's an article about how to do that.

One of the little-known features of developing an Android application with Android Studio is data binding. With it comes many excellent…

Did you get a better understanding yesterday about what the policy people are doing?

Have you signed up to http://www.appdevelopersalliance.org/?

Here is the press release from the EU commission about Google Android investigations:

Would you like to have a follow-up session?

Brussels GDG! Now is your chance to take over Amsterdam. Overwhelm the signups before the Amsterdam community realizes we've opened registration, and come join us for a nice day in Amsterdam (free event)

Super excited, on June 7 we'll be bringing Google's GCP NEXT show to Amsterdam. Register at https://goo.gl/KV2R2c to attend free code labs, 15 technical sessions, instructor lead bootcamp, a developer playground and more. Meet Googlers who can help you build and scale your apps on GCP. And of course, come say hi to me and wave at me onstage with one of my favorite customers talking about #Kubernetes
Explore the latest in cloud technology at Netherland’s largest gathering of the Google Cloud Platform community on June 7.

Hello everyone,

First of all I must apologise for the lack of communication since DevFest. The event was great thanks to all of you who came and participated, and also to all of the speakers that made it so interesting. So for that, thank you very much.

Secondly, as you may or may not know, Friedger has decided to move along to other challenges after founding and running the GDG Brussels for over 7 years. He has been absolutely awesome at this, and remains an inspiration to me. Thank you very much Friedger for all the hard work and the passion you have put in this community, I hope we'll continue to make you proud :)

So guys, rest assured that we'll do everything that we can to keep this community and our events going. And with that in mind, I'll send you soon a survey that you guys can fill out to help us take the temperature of the community and try to steer it the right way, I'm counting on your help to make that work :)

Lubos and I have decided not to organise any event in December but we are working on a Machine Learning event for January. You may already have seen that we have new year reception in February (places are limited, register fast ;) ), but that won't be the only February event!

So these are the news as of now, I wish you all the best for this holiday season, keep being passionate about dev and tech, and I can't wait to see you at the next event, next year :)

Yannick

RaspberryPi 3 will be officially supported? Not sure why Pi2 and PiZero not as well, but it's good news anyway :)
I hope this includes Brillo as well.

The Raspberry Pi 3 appears to be on track to receive official AOSP support from Google. At least, that is the most obvious conclusion based on the fact tha... by Jacob Long in Development, Google, News
