有人主張 uncertainty principle 應該翻譯成不確定原理而不是測不準原理。請問為什麼?

這是清大量子力學的課。相片中央只有一個頭的那個同學很奇怪。

殷海光,邏輯新引,台北市:台大出版中心, 2009 年出版。 ISBN 978-986-02-1221-1

這本書 (或說殷海光全集) 的出版有它的政治意義,等於是替殷海光平反。(殷海光是當年台大哲學系事件的主角)

從學術觀點來看,殷海光的著作,至少這本書的確有他出版的價值。此書風格獨特,由台大出版社出版,編排仔細印刷精美,可惜還是有錯誤。例如 p25 倒數第三行。
另外本書所使用的中文應該算是非常古老的中文,還有作者崇洋 (p24)。
更重要的他藉由書中的老教授宣傳抽菸的壞習慣。
這都可以稱是殷海光毒素。
不過更重要的是:本書中有些論點是錯的。例如 p38 提到某些學科是經由假設、觀察、試驗、求證才成立的。他說物理學不是這樣的學科。這是完全錯誤的觀念。任何一個理論科學包括物理學都是由假設、觀察、試驗、求證才成立的。(請參見丁致良著量子力學一書第一章)

Is entanglement distillation = entanglement concentration?

Is Schroedinger cat state = unknown quantum state?
I thought they means the same thing, but it seems many people object it. Why? Isn't Schroedinger cat state simply means a states with superposition? Should it be a known state?

There are two ways to talk about uncertainty:
1. from standard deviation <x-<x>^2>
2. from information theory i(x) = - log p (x)
are they equivalent?

Is measurement a dynamics process or kinematic process? A measurement like POVM has no time parameter, however there are time steps involved (i.e. we talked before the measurement and after measurement...etc) The same question is for "superdense coding", "teleportation" and "entanglement distribution" they all involved several time steps but no time parameter is seen. Should they be classified as dynamics or kinematics?

A few days ago I received a last minute notice for a conference in China from an institute located in a small island in Japan. Apparently nobody submitted any abstract even though the deadline has past for two more weeks. It mentioned they will offer free meal and free participation. I replied without round trip ticket it is no use since I am in Taiwan, and I told them I can submit a paper. The guy behind the e-mail immediately replied that he can solve my problem. O.K. then I will try to solve their problem. I submitted the application and the abstract in the same day, even though the announced date is already past. He said he will modify the date shortly. The next day he replied he do not want my paper since they consider that paper to be not related to their conference. O.K. Since we are not in the same field why then do you ask me for such last minute help?

I found they are very confusion,
could anyone help me to clarify the following names:

1. quantum state tomography = quantum state reconstruction
2. quantum state discrimination
3. unambigious quantum state discrimination
4. quantum state estimation

My understanding is: 1 is trying to construct the whole density metrix, 2 and 3 is is differ by the number of quantum state used, 4 is for estimate some parameter of the state?

講的也不過就是些 wave particle duality, uncertainty principle....
不過有一件事是台上講的幾乎全部都是似是而非 (他錯得太多我實在無法一一指正)

老師口若懸河的講述著量子力學
他把物理現象依照尺寸與速度區分為四類
他說量子力學適用於微小世界
這個....當然不對
量子力學適用的尺寸可以大到銀河宇宙小到基本粒子
