We love receiving updates like this one! Bowser was adopted after 106 days at Animal Humane to his absolute perfect family. Now he's just one of the kids, seen here napping with his two little girls. His mom says, "People ask why he was at Animal Humane for so long and I say, because he was waiting for us to come get him." Love it! #perfectpetnm

What a wonderful day! Mary Mae, one our longest term residents, was adopted on Valentine's Day by these two lovely gentlemen. Mary Mae was found abandoned off the highway with her two puppies in September. Both puppies were adopted within weeks, and Mary has been patiently waiting since. Congrats to Mary and her family! Happy late Valentine's Day!

Have you been to Gecko's Bar & Tapas recently? They are helping homeless pets in such a cool way! Not only are they displaying table tents on every one of their tables encouraging diners to adopt, each person who adopts a pet from Animal Humane and mentions Gecko's will receive a coupon for a free tapas on their next visit to the restaurant! Thank you so much Gecko's!

We are very grateful to have support from local businesses in our community! If you're business would like to partner with Animal Humane to help homeless pets while gaining exposure, we can work with you to tailor a support opportunity to best fit your business goals and identity. Congrats to Marco Polo, who was adopted from Animal Humane! He was featured in the paper for his philanthropic efforts with his mom, Amy Tanler! They participate in "Read to the Dogs," a program to help children with reading. Dogs adopted from shelters can do anything! #perfectpetnm

Wow! We are so lucky to have such a generous community! Thank you so much to everyone for donating more than 300 lbs. of dry cat food to our Emergency Pet Food Bank. We still need it (it flies off the shelves), so donations are still welcome. Again, thank you!

Once you watch his video, we know you'll agree...he has so many special skills and characteristics and would be a great addition to any home. Did you know dogs and cats are five times more likely to acquire gum disease than people? Their saliva promotes plaque and tartar much more than humans and they usually don’t have daily tooth brushing. As plaque hardens it can no longer be brushed or rinsed away at home; this leads to chronic gum inflammation and destruction which can then lead to tooth loss.
