I'm a strong supporter for space colonization (even if it sounds ridiculous now). 3d printing will certainly be one of the key technologies that will enable us to go there. Currently there is a small race by several private companies. from start-up to large corporations, to get a foothold in the ...

I have seen the future! Changing already 3d printed objects without the need to 3d print them again! This method uses multifinctional 3d printer with laser 3d scanner and CNC milling head to make changes to the already 3d printed object to add or subtract from the previous design.

HELP!!!!!!!
I've built a mendel90--it is slightly different--I am learning as I go. My problem right now is that my motors turn fine in one direction, but they just hum the other direction. this has me going crazy because they will turn in reverse just fine when backtracking after pressing the endstop. They also turn fine if I flip the connector, but then they don't go the other way. I've tried increasing the current on the stepper drivers--But no luck.
I have also tried to use an LCD+Encoder board to control it, I get the same problem.

Here is my current config file: https://docs.google.com/document/d/17GQfV6T3eDTDBd7Azu0aSYXx2wIPh8wpHcD4SQwMPOg/edit?usp=sharing

I am using RAMPS 1.4,
Normally open endstops
Marlin 1.1
Jumpers pulling max-endstops to ground.

CloudDDM is a company that operates like most 3D printing services where you can order parts through a web interface, but they're able to produce any part at high volumes and speed. They've recently opened a 3D printing factory inside UPS international hub in Louisville USA with one hundred 3D ...

This can be much harder in the world of physical objects than it is with exclusively digital works. Unlike with code or photographs, with physical objects you may actually have to search out what parts are and are not protected by copyright. You may also need to make a distinction between the ...

Can you weld wood? it looks like you can. It can be done by applying friction and mechanical vibration in what is known as friction welding. The cellulose and lignin in wood melt at some 180 C and bond together forming a welded seam. The weld seam has a simillar strength to glued one.

Hacking IKEA tables into 3d printer enclosure. If you want to get high quality prints you can use a printer enclosure to stabilize the temperature making it a protective isolating chamber. Stable and higher temperature can prevent warping and other heat related damage to your 3d printed object.

Nikolaj Møbius from Fablab RUC developed a simple and cheap DIY digitizer 3d scanner that can record points in a physical space and convert them into a 2D vector drawing for laser cutting or 3D printing. It is made with three rotary encoders and gets a points measures controlled by Arduino.

What is cooler then lasers? Well, lasers and 3d printers combined! duh! At some time at past I have argued on some forums that lasers will become integral parts of 3d printers and I was met with lot of opposition. There have been some attempts to integrate laser based 3d scanners into 3d ...

I LOVE the design of this 3d printer made by Chad Bridgewater! It is a true piece of art! it combines modern technology and vintage design as he developed his 3d printer based on a frame of old post-WWII Craftsman table saw. He re-purposed this two machines for his MFA thesis and he will aslo ...

This is probably the cheapest DLP SLA 3D printer that you can build yourself for some 500 USD including the projector! "Little Dipper" has a simple design that anyone can replicate with some basic DIY skills and it makes prints with reasonable quality. The most expenisve par is the projector ...
