Official Confirms NASA Plan to Capture an Asteroid

Rumors have been leaking out for over a week, but now according to Alan Boyle at NBC News’ Cosmic Log, a senior Obama administration official has confirmed that $100 million is being sought for NASA’s budget request for the coming fiscal year for a robotic spaceship to capture a small asteroid and park it near the Moon for astronauts to explore. The spacecraft would capture a 500-ton, 25-foot asteroid in 2019. Then using an Orion space capsule, a crew of about four astronauts would station-keep with the spacerock in 2021 for EVAs for exploration. This plan would accelerate NASA’s deep space missions with Orion and prepare crews for going to Mars.

Science!! Science os the itellect of every person it is not the formulas nor the theories that constitute science. It is curiosity. Each person has curiosity in several topics and in his quest to realisation of his curiosity is what science is. Science is never the truth,it only provides a path to uncover the truth. And science is very astonishingly related to spiritualism. Science has to be humble, keen and silent in order to develop. There is a scope of development only is something is proved wrong. This should not end science's scope or vision. Science must be driven with curiosity not intolerance to acheive a nearer and better view of truth. I welcome any one sharing our views to join this community with a spirit of a scientist and help in the evolution of "SCIENCE"!

Walking can lower risk of heart-related conditions as much as running (but it might take you more total time)

Walking briskly can lower your risk of high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes as much as running can, according to surprising findings reported in the American Heart Association journal Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology.

"The more the runners ran and the walkers walked, the better off they were in health benefits. If the amount of energy expended was the same between the two groups, then the health benefits were comparable," Williams said.

"Walking may be a more sustainable activity for some people when compared to running, however, those who choose running end up exercising twice as much as those that choose walking. This is probably because they can do twice as much in an hour," Williams said.

[Kinetic Light Sculptures]

British artist and physicist, Paul Friedlander, reveals the spectrum of colors through lit string vibrations.

______________

This illusion is achieved by a string being spun at high speed with high frequency projected light. At +Walmart you'll probably find a watered down version of this called a 'StringIt' (video below).

Here's a video of Paul Friedlander's creation: http://youtu.be/NUZkdQcK4FM

I'm just gonna go ahead and leave this here for everyone.

Science has had enough of basic discoveries now is the time to test them. Science nowadays is tending more towards the inventions. Science has grown into such big proportions that it is inevitable and inarguable. The rate of technological development is ever rising and in an exponential rate. But as a human and the sole responsible for science as we know it,we must concentrate more on the self. We must be conscious about the effects of application of science. We must understand and humbly embrace the fact that our ancestors have used science as a mode to fulfill their own needs. I beleive it is time to use it for the global need. Science today is patented and claimed, but a closer understanding might reveal that science is not a property it is a phenomena which was not created but evolved. Hence no country can claim solely by itself the technolgy. Science is an ideology and it is a global ideology. Neither can we say that a country has very little contribution to science....rather if we see that it is those small contributions that serve for a humoungous need. We all must understand that science is not a topic but it is the jeruselem of all ideas.Science is the evergreen tree of myriad ideologies mutually surviving by seving for others shortcomming. And this tree's fruits are implenishable and its roots unreachable.
