Watched this last night, it definitely lives up to the hype. A very welcome remake of the 1990 version.

Gibel Sensatsii is an interesting 1935 Russian film about the social problems caused by the technological development of robots. It includes references to the famous 1920 Czech play R.U.R. (which gave us the modern usage of the word "robot"), but the story actually has nothing to do with R.U.R. Most importantly, the robots in Gibel Sensatsii look like classic lumbering metal robots of early sci-fi, rather than the organic humanoids of R.U.R., and the story deals with various factions of humans using the robots against each other, rather than the robots rebelling on their own, as they did in R.U.R.
