APIs for the newsroom. Have you tried them?

I recently come across many interesting APIs, some of which are designed specifically for journalists (such as e.g. Trooclick which extracts quotes from news or Overview News which helps to monitor and analyze what the press writes about).

I'm curious if you have experimented with APIs in the newsroom or in your individual work. Which are your favorites? Anything worth recommending? :)

Interesting video from our hometown....

Brussels is threatened by terrorists. For the Belgian news magazine De Afspraak, Belgian photographer Jimmy Kets walks through Brussels. Not only does he take magnificent photographs, he also explains how news pictures can manipulate your idea of reality.
