Today was...oil filter housing...steering rack..powers steering hoses....half the fun was getting the fan off....but hey it came off....it seems most don't...steering rack fixed the dead spot ...cleaned up the engine bottom from filter housing leak and power steering res...hit all the oil pan bolts too...most we loose...

Ok here it the deal with rack....the alignment for the steering shaft comes off..just a rubber cover...well I just guessed as to center....I guessed wrong...so keep in mind that the wheel will not be dead on when it goes back in....mine is a foot 50° off to the left....but its not hard to fix...remove coupler and move it...

When you do the rack it is a good idea to do the filter housing at the same time....to open up the area around the top of the rack ...remove the alt and such...so why not...

The silver car was the rolling test lab...but it seems the red on took over that job...it now drives very tight..and steering is like a BMW should be...if you, have a convertible...buy the top locks asap...easy to change...

Today the silver car gets to benefit from all my red car work...new steering rack and power steering hose overhaul...and a steering bushing.

New front wheel bearings...car rolls way farther now...small vibs on freeway still yet to test...to much traffic....feels way more solid at slow speed...

My thoughts on changing to poly bushings...rear diff....you bet..no extra vibs at all...trans mounts..no problems...shifter bushings..u bet...front control arms do make it ride a bit harsher..but far better at feeling solid...engine mount...no no no....M3 mounts are best...I went with all rubber in the rear suspension...as for rear lower eBay control arms...they work well..but when you adjust them the exhaust is in the way on the drivers side to get to the lock nut on the diff side...
