Polls are out of fashion. Bad poll makers must be shunned (actually: killed, but I can't say that).

Your device will be reset after the update to a new OS. If you have your Google backup settings correct your files will be saved on the cloud and can be restored to your device after the update. I went through this when my nexus received the update from kit kat to lollipop. Small system updates do not reset the device.

Hey guys I'm new to this community here, well like all of the members in this community I am I big fan of Google and its products especially of its Android system and I love it much! I first got to know Android through fully was with my Samsung Note 3, I loved Android but I felt that Samsung really sucks, I mean it was really laggy and I mean really!! I also didn't like the idea that it wasn't pure Android and lots of unnecessary stuff were added by Samsung just for the sake of being somewhat different of the universal Android. So I decided to go over to Androids original and own home, the Nexus. I purchased a Nexus 9 tablet and boy the experience of pure Android is amazing! Especially coming from KitKat to lollipop was a huge upgrade for the better as Google products just improve by the day! But what bothers me is the fact that my device still laggs, so here im wondering, am I the only one experiencing this problem or is this a well known issue? I mean is this like an integral problem of android shared by all Android users including Samsung LG Nexus htc Sony and the likes? Will the ios be less laggy? Or maybe is this a universal issue that plagues the tech world across all devices?

I need to buy now a new phone since my note 3 is not usable anymore as its lagging is unbearable to me, and I'm really confused and clueless what to buy next, should I wait for the new Nexus release or will it be laggy as well? Maybe should I try an iPhone for the first time? Will that be smoother?

Sorry for such a long post, I didn't intend so initially, but if you've already read till here I'd be glad to hear your advice on this subject.

Thanks in advance!

I'm on nexus 4 also. Had a great experience for almost 3 years. But lately my phone begins to a little bit laggy but it is still bearable.
People said that apple device such as iphone and ipad is smoother than Android but I'm using an ipad 3 and it is even more laggy than my nexus 4.
So if i were you in gonna wait for the new nexus 5.

It's happening more often lately that my Nexus 4 does not wake up and I am forced to restart it by pressing the power button ... Why do you think? How could I solve? I'm on 5.1.1

Hmm... I better start looking for a replacement soon... Hope that N5 2015 5.2" is for real.

Was in the theater today watching DBZ movie, was at 92% going into the movie, about half way through my phone vibrates when on silent, I pull it out to see it shutting down, so I try to power back up and it does than immediately powers off again, same thing twice in a row. Boot into recovery and it seems fine then shuts off. After the movie I try to power up and it won't do anything (no red light, no vibrate, nothing), so I plug it in and after 5 minutes or so the red light comes on and another 15 minutes it boots up with 9% battery remaining, walk around Sam's Club for an hour and it's at 6%. Got home and connected it to A/C adapter and it seems to be charging fine now,  it is back up to 15% already and quickly rising.

Hope it's just a fluke, wanna try to squeeze another 2-3 months out of this thing.

Eh... After I looked into it, MediaScanner was holding the device awake from 8:30 this morning until it shutdown... Seems to be OK now. Weird. Guess it couldn't have been at 92% when I went into movie
