#Author #Support From an author on Wattpad "I try hard to stay positive, but how long can you go without evidence to support (that one's work is good enough) it."

I've been with Wattpad since 2012 with the occasional reader and few followers. Since all the changes, the unbiased platform had been removed and 'new' chapters are never featured.
Wattpad now works similar as Amazon.
Some days I even land on 'author not found' when I refer someone to my links. I've now learnt to just refresh the 'not found' page and suddenly I'm found again.

Does it serve its purpose, leaving free reads on Wattpad?
Yes, it seems to do so, especially if you have your tags correct as the occasional reader will see some of your work in search engines and purchase all the books you have available.

Why are things slowing down? Not just here but everywhere?
It is not a lack of quality of writing or end product. It is simply a case of saturation of the market, especially by shoddy work put out by writers that do not care to sell or make a living from their work (ie Amazon KDP etc free reads galore right there with return options).
This tanks the whole market for Indie Authors spending effort and money to give a polished product to readers, in the hope of eventually gaining some compensation.

I'm not with Amazon or any of the other regular publishing platforms due to personal reasons, which makes marketing even more difficult.
But as stated, at the end of the day, the effort, time and SACRIFICES good authors make to get their books out there are not worth it without sales.

Currently, on request from my family, I've downgraded my books to an expensive hobby and am looking for a new career.

It is just funny how quickly people jump on books when an author dies. I guess, if you do put books out there, the pay-off will only come once you leave this world.

I am delighted to announce the publication of my book LOSING TIME as an e-book.

‘Losing Time’ is a very human story about a young divorced woman trying to find the father who never returned home. Her search is baffling, unsettling and shrouded in mystery. It takes her on a journey beyond the boundaries of normal life, but don’t expect this story to turn into a run-of-the-mill science-fiction fantasy because it’s anything but. Woven into the intriguing plot are characters both delightful and abhorrent; moments of love and loss, loyalty and betrayal; and the ongoing question: who is chasing whom?

Enjoy!
