This question piqued my interest and, so, I contacted the folks at Zoomify asking about using their product to construct an HTML widget for iBA projects. They replied right away with a customer developed prototype. Here is the download URL:
http://www.zoomify.com/downloads/customer/iBooksCustomerWidget.zip
Their caveat is that they have not tested it themselves. Here is what the Zomify customer who developed this had to say:
Customer note: "The simple drop will not work - the HTML should be embedded in a Dashcode widget style folder (named with .wdgt extension in the folder name). You should put the image within the folder as well, and that's where the ZoomifyImageViewer.js should go as well. Also it needs to contain two essential files: default.png and info.plist files. The main file is index.html - as referenced in the info.plist."
So if anyone tries this out, please share your experience. Who knows, perhaps Zoomify will add a widget exporter to their product.
Question about iBA Interactive Widgets: A friend is working on medical text and want to use interactive widget to zoom to 1000% on some detailed cell images. Looks like the default is a max zoom of 160%.

Any ideas to achieve that zoom goal another way?

I figure I'm missing something simple, but need your eyes/help. I created a custom "Drag & Drop" widget using Bookry and it doesn't work. Any ideas?
*Link below is to quick screencast I made demonstrating the problem.

My latest student publication - free iBook or PDF version #history

Just to let you all know that there is a one hour workshop at the Alaska State Technology in Education conference on using ibooks in the classroom in February. I might drop by if I'm not presenting at that time slot.

If ever you get discouraged creating eTextbooks for students, this Florida study is the antidote. The costs of textbooks is a real and growing barrier to learning.

Here's my brainstorm - what do you think? Anyone else teaching edtech to preservice teachers?

Is there an easy way to capitalize the first letter of a chapter in iBA (outside of messing with font size)? I searched and found resources for Word, but didn't know if it was something simple I was missing.
