Hey there, Code for the Kingdom greats! We have a few map project needs in our 4K Mapping ministry.  They would be short-term commitments, and mostly involve creating dynamic web services from some new data we've got in our maps.  It would be a volunteer position. If you or someone you know would like to serve a missions project part-time for a season, please email me at 4kworldmap@gmail.com, and specify that you saw this request so that I know who you are!  Thanks!!  Jill  (our website is at www.4kworldmap.com)

Here is a pressing problem that I would propose. Data collection is at the heart of new media (see media2movements.org). But in the national church planters by in large do not have Internet connection, nor computers to go on line, log into a website, locating a respondent whom they just met with to fill into the “history” section.  But the nationals by in large are heavy text message users.

If we could develop a software solution that would employ something like Ushahidi (www.ushahidi.com) then we could use a software to connect to a CRM and update a record.  Church Planters would use cell phone to text a unique identifier to a common text number with information on meetings they just had.

Capturing accurate data is a major problem in the "Acts 1:8" world, especially in high-risk areas like Middle East. We often get data months late and it is often guessing - bordering on hyper guessing with wild numbers. This simple solution would give missionary a way to capture accurate data and help nationals with “just in time” training.

I could visualize us doing a script that would work for an SQL data base with a CRM.  I could give you access to a CRM that Coders could build the plug in for. Coders for the Kingdom would want to patent the script since there could have a lot of commercial uses.
Ushahidi helps people wield information to make a serious impact through open source technologies, cross-sector partnerships, and ground-breaking ventures.

Just came across CrisisNET, an API exposing info crisis taking place around the world (armed conflicts, political, disasters, etc). Any of the platforms at #C4TK  that were for promoting prayer, you may want to incorporate data from CrisisNET into the prayer requests from friends.

APIs like the above are often used for creating news and awareness, but how much more powerful would it be to present it instead in the context of prayer.
Crisis data, at your fingertips. CrisisNET finds, formats and exposes crisis data in a simple, intuitive structure that's accessible anywhere. Now developers, journalists and analysts can skip the days of tedious data processing and get to work in minutes with only a few lines of code.

Hey C4TK'ers! For one of the challenges, Digital Volunteer Record, a lot of the needs feel very similar to a product that I make for my day job, called Talentral.

Try checking out Talentral and creating a profile - http://talentral.com/reach/571dww

Let me know your thoughts on whether extending the existing Talentral profile as it is today would be a way to meet that challenge. With Talentral, you can create multiple profiles, not just one. So you can have one for your professional-work profile, and one just for volunteering.

Just signed up. I can't get there until after 9pm on Friday, and so will be looking for a team or teams to help with. One thing I can contribute is my knowledge of a rapid web development platform called QCubed, which takes a MySQL database and generates a customizable PHP-based website based on the schema you design. Its a great way to quickly generate a prototype for a site with a complex data backend. This should be helpful for anyone bringing new ideas to quickly flesh out at the conference.
Examples · Tutorials · Forums · Tickets · Download · Plugins · Chat · pM · Linux Operating Sytem · Gimp Image Editor · Eclipse PDT · Inkscape Vector Graphics Editor © 2014 QCubed - All Rights Reserved. Download - Get Started. QCubed is a PHP framework for rapid web development.

HELP - I'm looking for partners to join an emerging Micro Loan enterprise we are developing in Indonesia. We've been testing our model for the last nine months and have demonstrated, after 1000 loans that a $100 loan to a Mother can change her life and impact the destiny of her dependents. The loan is paid back in 6 months and is then loaned again to another Mom. We would like to add 1,000 new loans in the next 12 months. We need an App that links with our site and will allow updates and developments to be linked with donors and interested people. These are some of the Mom's who are involved. I have no knowledge of coding!!

Here's an idea --  Build an app and database for collecting and presenting crowd-sourced info on local hospitals and their actual costs.

Nothing like collecting real cost info and doing statistical analysis to help patients make better decisions about their own care.

HATE TRAFFIC?  Stop the hate all over the world!

As a visionary, I'm bringing a big vision with a clearly identified go-to-market business strategy.  I need to find experts in app design/development for a noble journey of "social-good meets social-awesome."

My vision to shift our culture (that has shaped over the past 100 years) is ready to take to market and I need a team of experts in app design/development.   I hope you have a passion to take on the worlds greatest problem, traffic!  Traffic is the daily stress'er that fuels many problems including road-rage (hate within communities), deadly accidents, poor moral as a result of anger (including crime), and then that stress gets delivered into the work place, as well as the home life, both places where it is spread like a disease and continues it's nasty outcomes.  The psychology behind the stress of traffic is incredibly detrimental to a community and to our world.  So, I need experts who are passionate about changing this.  Please inquire with confidence and eagerness if you have the expert design/development skills this project deserves.

Our app will address three of the problems here on Create For The Kingdom.  In a totally new and indirect way, which is the truest way possible.

(Through our applications) we will connect friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, and networkers in a way that enables them to share costs associated with their daily commutes and road trips (get to know and love your neighbor).  As a result of this connection, we will also be an impacting solution to reducing traffic and emissions for inner-cities all over the world (an environmentally sustainable mission).  And further into adaptation over the next few years, as people continue to give and share more and more with their neighbors, we will have shifted a historic culture, as well as have been responsible for improving the quality of lives for billions of people for generations to come (instilling our youths with the desire to be radically generous and conscious of how a "share" community brings happiness to their world and others around them).

Hey Friends! Ever felt like you wanted to make a impact, but somehow felt inadequate.... like you were lacking in time, money or direction on where you could help or how to do so? Your chance is here! Take just 10 minutes a week to serve through random acts of kindness and get your community, workplace and friends involved. Together we actually can change the world we live in! Can you imagine what would happen if 1,000,000 people decided to take on the challenge? I'm excited to find out, are you in? To sign up or learn more about the challenge, follow the link below! http://signup.10minutegive.com/ #codeforthekingdomAustin

Hi everyone, just wanted to share an idea I plan to work on with Node.js! It's a simple site where people can leave condolences and words of empathy whenever a tragedy or disaster happens. You would also be able see in near real-time the messages being sent in, visualizing all the similar thoughts of sadness and prayer going through the minds of people around the world.

I thought it would be nice to sort of centralize the kind words being scattered across message boards and news article comment sections. As well as visualizing, if roughy, the outpouring of support. Hope this sounds interesting, and if so, please let me know!

DISCREET 911

At the recent Fight conference (http://www.mounthermon.org/event/42) I learned that a major barrier to trafficked people calling for help is fear.

There are multiple apps designed to help report human trafficking or allow victims of human trafficking or others in distress to call for help, sometimes discreetly (such as in an app disguised as a news app).  But even installing an app may be too much of a barrier for someone who is closely tracked by a pimp or does not have a smartphone.

Can we come up with a system (perhaps incorporating mobile phone carriers, if necessary) by which anyone with a phone can discreetly call for help in a way that is untrackable even by someone who reviews their phone activity?  Are there ways to take actions on phones that send signals but are not recorded in the logs?  Can rescue efforts integrate into the same phone number as other, commonly used resources that would not draw attention so that a person can call or text for help without drawing suspicion from their pimp?

Hi everyone! This is Matt Sprankle from PrayBuzz.

We are really excited to be apart of C4TK! We are passionate about connecting God's kingdom in prayer. Since we launched PrayBuzz we've been asked by our users repeatedly, "Can i create a group that I invite people to?" They want simple, secure prayer groups that mirror the group systems of their local ministry. A feature like this could transform a small group experience so we are excited to work on it this weekend. Want to join the team?? If you are comfortable with MongoDB, Scala (API) and JavaScript (web and mobile apps) we would love to work with you this weekend!

Lord willing we can build out an MVP with some great features but we want to collaborate with you talented folks before we decide. Our prayer is that we find like hearted developers who are interested in meeting an expressed need for an existing group of users. This is going to be fun!
PrayBuzz is the Prayer App! A fun, easy and modern way to pray together. Share requests, schedule reminders and get notified when God answers.

Christmas morning 6 years ago, I saw my friend Kelly standing in her living room with a number of Hefty bags filled with clothing.  I asked why and she explained she had 9 sisters and it is their tradition on Christmas morning for each of them to bring their unwanted clothing to their parent’s house, dump them on the floor, and begin a free for all, with each sister taking whatever they wanted from the pile.  Whatever remained went to charity.  How cool is that?  I found myself envious, wishing I had a large family with whom I could do the same with my unused clothing and items.  I realized I do; my church family.

God used me to build phrugle.com, a free and private site helping us to live out Acts giving, where individuals give with each other and churches create groups enabling their members to take care of each other’s needs.  The phrugle fundraising option allows users to sell items and have 100% of the sale price instantly deposited into the church, missionary, or group account.  It is my desire, to one day see 100% of phrugle’s profit go directly into Kingdom giving, or be used to finance other Kingdom giving focused businesses.  I desperately need a mobile app to supplement our website.  I humbly ask you to please consider helping to accomplish this task at the San Francisco CFTK event.

My name is Brian Moran and I welcome your inquiries and feedback.
