Here is a pressing problem that I would propose. Data collection is at the heart of new media (see media2movements.org
). But in the national church planters by in large do not have Internet connection, nor computers to go on line, log into a website, locating a respondent whom they just met with to fill into the “history” section. But the nationals by in large are heavy text message users.
If we could develop a software solution that would employ something like Ushahidi (www.ushahidi.com
) then we could use a software to connect to a CRM and update a record. Church Planters would use cell phone to text a unique identifier to a common text number with information on meetings they just had.
Capturing accurate data is a major problem in the "Acts 1:8" world, especially in high-risk areas like Middle East. We often get data months late and it is often guessing - bordering on hyper guessing with wild numbers. This simple solution would give missionary a way to capture accurate data and help nationals with “just in time” training.
I could visualize us doing a script that would work for an SQL data base with a CRM. I could give you access to a CRM that Coders could build the plug in for. Coders for the Kingdom would want to patent the script since there could have a lot of commercial uses.
