There are myriad mountain regions on the planet that are mostly undiscovered and rarely trekked and yet, despite their awe-inspiring beauty, they have largely remained that way. Don't get me wrong - I love Nepal for example - but what would be your candidate for the best kept trekking secret in the world? Mine would be the Hengduan Mountains of western China - but I would be Interested to hear yours.

Cho La Pass, Himalayas

In the middle of a mammoth 21 day high altitude trek in the Himalayas, we crossed the Chola Pass. A five and a half thousand metre high mountain ridge with a near vertical ascent that can only be done in pristine conditions. Seeming though I'm not a mountaineer, I was pretty happy with the accomplishment. This is the view from up the top. A frozen land full of glaciers, crevasse and jiggered peaks.
