One of the reasons I am so drawn to and proud of using the Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) framework of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is because REBT is about helping people get better, not just to feel better.

We work on long-lasting philosophical change by replacing the IRRATIONAL beliefs that people hold (which causes the emotional disturbance. Ie. Anxiety, depression, guilt, jealousy etc) to a more flexible RATIONAL belief which leads to healthy negative emotions which are much more transient!
