I'm wondering about GM ruling, is there a "place" where I can ask other GMs what they would do? I've looked at the attached link but the rules discussions link it contains is broken.

Thank you kindly
General Questions. Are there official rulings on ambiguities in the D&D rules? If so, where should I find them? You can always contact Game Support for guidance on a ruling in the D&D rules, but the Dungeon Master (DM) is the final arbiter of rules at your table. The D&D Basic Rules and Player's ...

In most cases, do the caster of Counterspell know the spell the target is  casting (that will attempt interrupting) ? Are there exceptions that the caster of Counterspell can/can't discover the spell the target is casting? I hope my question make sense to readers.

I've looked at a few pages (Q&A, blog) and couldn't find it on my own.

Thank you kindly

Since rolling skill checks in combat take an action, I use their passive arcana score vs DC 10 + spell level if on their spell list; DC 15 + spell level if not on their spell list. If his/her passive arcana is equal or greater than the DC they know what is being cast.

Fernando Lecaros has recently resigned as the Asia-Pacific Regional Coordinator for personal reasons. He'll continue to support D&D in his local area and we wish him luck.
Fernando recommended +Merric Blackman  as his successor in the Asia-Pacific region, a suggestion the AL Admins heartily agreed with. Welcome Merric as the new Regional Coordinator for the Asia-Pacific region!

So if you cast the 3Lv Cleric spell Daylight on just say a vampire or something with dark vision will it blind them for the duration and give you advantage on attacks and them disadvantage ?

+Travis Fritzinger Daylight isn't sunlight, so it wouldn't trigger sensitivity for anyone. Sunbeam, the Sun Sword, and Sun Burst all count as sunlight and would trigger the sensitivity.

If you have a PDF of the MM, try using Ctrl+F and searching for "Sunlight Sensitivity" and "Sunlight Hypersensitivity"

At gamex in LA I played with an archer battlemaster that brought a flying creature to the ground by 'clipping its wings' with the trip maneuver. It was really awesome!

I'm planning on running PotA, but I'm a new DM * I've ran maybe 2 adventures).

I've looked thru this walkthrough and some things just don't make sense to me.

http://thecampaign20xx.blogspot.com/2015/04/elemental-evil-guide-to-princes-of.html?m=1

I was wondering if anyone has their own walkthrough that would be a little easier to follow.

+Rob Twohy I took this rail and added note lines, and combined the order with the other rail and made a multi page document that should work.
Thanks for the heads up!

I was recently in a game and came an opportunity attack there was some questioning about if sneak attack applied. I pointed to the GM it was 1 / turn and he replied yes, on the player's turn.

The way I interpret the rule is 1 (sneak attack) / turn, any turn, every PC, every NPC.

I've heard and read, including attached URL, different rulings about if sneak attack apply to opportunity attack. What's the AL interpretation about this?

Thank you kindly

Sage Advice is not an official rules source for the AL. It is considered an authoritative source for DM consideration, but the DM is the one empowered to make the ruling at the table. Expect no ruling from the AL on D&D rules interpretation, they only rule on AL rules, so expect table variation.
I was troubled by this Sage Advice until I saw for other abilities it was "on your turn" but for sneak attack it was "on a turn", so now I go with the Sage Advice ruling for my tables. Not unbalancing since you only get one reaction a round, so a maximum of two sneak attacks per round with current rule set.  If your reaction does occur during your own turn, you would only get one sneak attack that round.

Are you ready to get down. Lets do this thing with Curses of Strahd and Merric Blackman and the News and all the good stuff you love to get down with. Alright, you’ve been primed. Now dance and dice on.

I do like it how you are trying to review it (Death in the Cornfields) , but cant actually review it because that would ruin it :).

Also it is Curse of Strahd, not Curses :)

Great podcast though, Ive been running the DDAL episodes set in Barovia ( just not the hardback)

About this community

See below for D&D AL Links. At the core of the new D&D Organized Play experience is the D&D Adventurers League. Essentially, we’ve given the system a name, because we wanted to emphasize the connected nature of our public play programs. For the first time, we’ll have our entire public play taking place in the same ongoing D&D campaign. As a player, you’ll create a character for the D&D Adventurers League. You’ll be using the same rules to play at a convention, a store, or any sort of public event. There will be a D&D Adventurers League Player’s Guide available to let you know how it all comes together. Through the different programs, the D&D Adventurers League will be inviting to casual D&D players, experienced D&D players, and players looking for ways in which their characters can impact the campaign world. We want players to find the play that best fits them, and enjoy playing for years to come. As a Dungeon Master, the D&D Adventurers League is a great way to run fun adventures that involve a minimum of prep work. We’ll find ways to reward you for your time and effort through the various programs, and there will be additional support and opportunities to showcase your skills. As an organizer (either in-store or at conventions), you’ll find that the D&D Adventurers League is a great way to keep your players engaged. There will be fresh content available on a regular basis (mostly monthly), ensuring that there’s always something new around the corner. Here's a big ol' list of links that should help you out. Find and join your regional page for more localized D&D Adventurers League play and information. Regional Links: http://dndadventurersleague.org/regional-pages/

I'm preparing an adventure where a hook is having met Elanil Elassidil. I would search the modules myself but unfortunately I only have 1. Is there some directory of the AL adventures along with its NPCs list (like many wiki pages have categories allowing easy search) or tags? Otherwise perhaps someone has a text version (the file type, including HTML & LaTeX) of all the adventures (with windows search (in explorer (win+e) or search (win+f)), the term will also be searched in text files), or a PDF search tool, and could search for Elanil Elassidil?

Thank you kindly

Not getting enough Tier 3 action you say? Well get ready for it! Coming this Summer from Baldman Games is a trilogy of Tier 3 DDAL Legal adventures based in the ever changing city of Phlan. Premiering at GenCon, they will be available on the DMs Guild soon after.
Part 1 - Sepulture
Spirits in Phlan are high in the wake of Vorgansharax’s defeat. Reconstruction plans are finally in motion, yet one threat looms. The Doomguide of Kelemvor has descended into the shadows of the necropolis and gathers dark forces around him. There is little he won’t anticipate. One should have their affairs in order before accepting this mission. by Greg Marks
Part 2 - Enemy of My Enemy
Something odd is happening to the citizens of Phlan. Some have inexplicably gone mad and must be restrained, while others have developed strange magical abilities. No one is immune as it has affected young and old, rich and poor, strong and weak. Opinions about the cause are plentiful, but some theories seem more solid than others. by Will Doyle
Part 3 - Subterfuge
A grand plan for the reconstruction of Phlan is being proposed, one that would expand the city walls to protect all the citizens. The effort is very ambitious and so popular that few speak out against it. Even the Welcomers have publicly supported the effort. With such support and noble intentions, what could possibly go wrong? by Erik Scott de Bie

Does anyone know if a remove curse scroll would remove the dark gifts after accepting them ? We had a TPK today in ours session and my PC took the dark gift but after doing so is now trying to cleanse him self of it. He had another PC cast the remove curse spell on him and the DM said it would just remove part of the dark gift where I could shift through walls part. Any thoughts would be great thanks

One of the hardest things i find with my Out of the Abyss game is providing enough EXp so basically they level a chapter without feeling like its becoming too much of a grind or for it to become too deadly. Too many random encounters on the road and its starts to feel too much like a Grind to get anywhere but also too little and there is no sense of threat and the exp just isnt there. Currently they are all 5. and on the outskirts of Blingdenstone and its gonna be hard to get them to 7.

Ive already decided that the next Module I run for the D&D game night at my location will NOT be AL Compliant. Im still going to use the base rules AL uses (ie spell selection/origins/ banned race) but Im gonna actually use my Fifth Edition Foes and Tome of Beasts).

Look at it like this:

You have a Zombie encounter on  random encounter table.  Lets say 2d4 zombies. Zombie being in bold.

Now according to the rules I could simply just add more zombies to the encounter but not a Beholder Zombie because whilst it is a zombie, its not the zombie basic version the adventure uses at that point.
