Just heard that Google + is going to be shutting down. I'm not sure when, so I want to say this before it's all yanked out from under me. I have really enjoyed being part of this community. I may not post that often, but I love peeking in on what others are writing and pondering. Thank you +AmyBeth Inverness for giving us all something to think about with your daily questions. My latest article for Luna Station Quarterly is all about the Do-Nots of writing romantic subplots.

In other words, I get bitchy at Sarah J. Maas for ruining my favorite ships.
Enjoy! :)

"How glorious are they, the immovable idols of Urth, carved with unaccountable tools in a time inconceivably ancient, still lifting above the rim of the world grim heads crowned with mitres, tiaras, and diadems spangled with snow, heads whose eyes are as large as towns, figures whose shoulders are wrapped in forests."

Tolkien is the architect of my imagination. I read all his books at age 10. However, The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe, is easily the best SF&F series I have read as an adult.

I love this series. It's coming back in November. It's a good Sci-Fi drama, backed up by science.

The publication of Maus, Persepolis, Watchmen, and other contemporary graphic novels has launched this medium as a literary genre of its own. Tie-ins and film productions based on comic book heroes have driven this genre into the lucrative mainstream, nonetheless, the alternative comic tradition still invites creative thinking, and imaginative writing. Some of the biggest names in the graphic novel industry still welcome submissions. As always, read the publisher's submission guidelines very carefully before submitting. https://publishedtodeath.blogspot.com/2014/06/7-graphic-novel-publishers-accepting.html
