Beautiful bike! I test drove several including the 2012, but ultimately choose the Triumph Trophy. I love it, but still 2nd guess occasionally. Enjoy!

If you are thinking it's time to upgrade your Garmin GPS, make sure the first thing you do is contact Garmin directly.  Garmin routinely has both posted and unposted promotional offers available, including Trade-Ins.

Their blog lists currently posted promos here: http://garmin.blogs.com/promotions/

My 9 year-old StreetPilot 2820 was increasingly on the fritz; essentially unusable on my first ride this year.  Calling Garmin, the Sales team did not have my unit on their list of eligible models to trade up. However they told me their Support group had a separate list.

Garmin Support confirmed the 2820 as eligible for upgrade on their list.  As a registered user (and their support's great, btw), they immediately identified me and my unit. It qualified for a 30% discount on a new unit of my choice.  AND, since I had purchased Lifetime Map Upgrades, I received another 10% discount.

So, I went ahead and bought the new Zumo 590 ($899) with a 40% discount.  It is a trade-up promo, so I had to ship my 2820 in to the before taking delivery of the new one (on it's way now).  So, full price out the door: $572.39.

Thought I'd share.  Its worth being a loyal customer sometimes.

The MSTA-Michigan (East) crew moved into its new digs, today.  Doc's Sport Retreat looks like it'll work well.  Nothing like space, with a view. Should be very nice once Spring springs.

If you're ever able to join us, please do.

Hey all, question: Is there a community or way for people to post their route and connect with riders along that route? EG: Say I plan a trip from Tacoma, to No Cal, over to Utah, up to Idaho and home. People who live "generally" along the route could connect with me for food, to ride, etc. While I am going to a week or two each person might only be able to ride for an hour or a day or whatever, but by connecting they could share local knowledge and the like instead of me trying to find a person who can do the whole ride with me from start to finish.

For my Fellow Motorcyclists...
Had a very enjoyable ride today. Out to Ann Arbor (Michigan, USA) for coffee with friends and then a longer ride back.

Be on the Defensive! Folks just are not expecting motorcyclists out and about yet.  In the last 2 miles from home, I had one car, oncoming, move completely into my lane head-on!  Don't know what she was thinking. She clearly thought 'my' lane was her left turn lane!

Then, a 1/4 mile later, as I went to turn into my sub, high-beam on (from prior issue), left turn signal blinking, lady exiting the sub looked my way, looked left for traffic, then started turning into me just as I was about to turn left to enter. Mucho horn blowing. She finally got a clue.

They're not watching, so remember, We Must!
